How are these rules applied when you move to a different state. For example, we live in NH and both have plan G, what if we moved to ME?

I found out this month, Oklahoma adopted the Birthday Rule with a 60 day window in September for 2024. It's a "step down"plan to lesser Plan benefits or lower price with in the same Plan letter without medical underwriting. I decided to go back to Plan G from N because of the exact same thing you said Stephanie. I did have to go through medical underwriting this year. I just passed my 180 days limit after turning 65 in November. Fortunately I passed underwriting this month instead of having to wait 7 more months until my birthday. Giving up Plan N was tough. Liked Plan D but was higher with only 3 insurers available. I did watch your video on Plan D... just not cost effective. Thanks for all your hard work.😉

Can you make a video about why Minnesota and Wisconsin are different than other states and what’s different? Where they are better or worse than the typical plan G?

Medicare Supplement Plan rules can vary by states - some of these "Birthday rules" are brand new!

Hi Stephanie, Your videos are fantastic I have learned a lot thanks. I have been on medicare advantage plan for 2 years since turning 65 from what i know now i would like to switch to a medicare suplement plan. I am in NY and from your videos i understand there is no medical underwriting required so my question is can switch a supplement plan now in NY and not have to wait for fall enrollment period? If so i would like to contact your office to switch to a supplement plan..

Love your videos. Very informative. I live in California and I was wondering. If I got a Medigap policy through a broker and I want to change my policy on my birthday, do I have to use the same broker or can I change to a different broker?

I don’t have a primary doctor, I have plan G and recently had endoscopy for an issue that I’d been hospitalized for a few days. This was a follow up endoscopy, so I decided to ask for a colonoscopy since it was end of year and hadn’t had one In 16 years. I’m 66. My Medicare and plan G should cover this totally even if a primary doctor didn’t request it, right?

Is it possible to switch from an advantage plan to a supplement in Ct?

I understand both Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare is 80% coverage. I understand only original Medicare allows a Medigap policy. I understand those perks and prescription plans with Medicare Advantage are not really free. Do the math.

I have a question that i can't find the answer. My wife is on SSDI and has Medicare A&B. She turns 65 next year. I found that her SSDI turns to SSI automatically. I can't find out what happens for her Medicare? Does she become eligible for a Medicare supplement (Plan G or N) or has she lost eligibility since she's been on the plan since she was granted SSDI?

My wife and I are currently living in TX and have had plan G coverage since Feb 2022. We are planning to move to MI in 2024. What do we need to do once we have moved?

Hello. Thank you for the great info! If I choose Plan N in Oregon when I first enroll in Part B in July 2024, will I have to go through underwriting? And, if I am on Plan G or N in Oregon for 2-4 years and then I move to Washington State, will I have to go through medical underwriting to maintain the same Plan? thank you!

Curious that you mentioned that states with the birthday or anniversary rules have higher rates. Seems like it should encourage competitive rates given that consumers have the power to switch companies without having to pass underwriting.

Wife just became eligible for Medicare and is on SSDI. We declined her part B coverage as she is currently covered through my employer sponsored insurance. When I leave my job and lose healthcare coverage, she will have to go on an Advantage Plan, as individuals on SSDI are not eligible for a Supplemental plan in my state. When that time comes, can you help us choose the plan that's right for us? How soon do we have to enroll in a plan after we lose covererage?

I will be turning 65 next year, but I will be automatically enrolled in Medicare in less than a year because I am currently taking SS. I am looking at a Supplement Plan and I have seen videos on these plans closing. How would I know my plan is closing?

Could you compare the new Advantage Blue Cross Flex vs Medigap Supplement G pros and cons in Texas? I’m 70+, I currently have Supplement G. Should I switch to Blue Cross Flex?
