Honda Fit, 250K. Only replaced the clutch slave cylinder, $20 and 60 mins to replace. The rest was routine maintenance.

500K easy out of this car. Still
Runs like new.

I find that people obsess over oil changes and completely forgot about transmissions, coolant, the fact that hoses, compressors, pumps, seals all also age and by the time it's 15 years old parts get harder to come by and that age is shrinking as manufacturers support vehicles for less time.

My V-6 Tacoma just turned 200k, no repairs except routine maintenance. I'm going for a million!

I have a golfing buddy that has over 250, 000 miles on his Honda Civic. It's still going strong, and looks pretty fresh.

Here’s what I frequently see when talking to people about repairs at work. When a car is cheap brand new, in relation to other models, then it’s really cheap when it gets 150k on the clock. At that point it has a high chance of falling into the hands of someone who barely afforded the car and can’t afford maintenance. You know the rest…

I have a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe with over 252, 000 miles and it’s the best vehicles I’ve ever bought . Use my vehicle everyday and I do my own maintenance. Hope I can get 1 million .

The biggest things to do is to change all the fluids, use rust protection.. I use Fluid Film but you have to reapply it, washing and waxing by hand is ideal but washing it in an automatic carwash is still better than not doing it at all.

Replace worn out parts, belts, hoses, spark plugs, bearings, grease any fittings you can, regularly check your alternator and visually check your engine, fluids, differential fluid if you got it make sure they stay topped off. If you find you have to add fluids often you may have a leak somewhere. Biggest maintenance check I do weekly is checking the oil level. Long as you got oil in there, it's not burning it or losing it abnormally and you haven't exceeded the mileage on your filter or oil depending on what you use synthetic or non synthetic your engine should last a very long time.. if your not constantly pushing it to the redline.

I'm surprised Subaru isn't on your list?
I've had an 1985, 428, 000, a 1996 360, 000, and a 2007 that's got 416, 000.
I run full synthetic Amsoil 5-20. I change the oil filter every 3, 000 miles, and the oil every 20, 000 miles. Air filters every 10, 000.
My neighbor's 2005 Chevy P/u looks brand new, but has holes the size of your fist in the frame. Chevy says it's normal wear and tear. But my 1953 p/u is just fine, and has never been in the garage?

Hi Lauren love your show ❤
I know it not worth mentioning
But back in 2008 I bought a 2005 ford escape 3.0l AWD with 98, 000 miles, I do all my own repairs and maintenance
I’ve owned it for 10 years until I totaled it on my way home from work, at this time it had 242, 000 miles on it, during the time I’ve only done get the PCM repaired by circuit board medics, replace the 2/4 band twice and the timing chains and regular maintenance like oil/filter brakes tires and drain and fill the transmission fluid, I really loved this car a lot and was sad to let it go🥲 but I was close to getting 300, 000 miles

Ford and Chevy Trucks, Honda's Accord and Civic, Toyota Camry, all Camry based cars, the 08-prius, Most Lexus cars, and, certain Corolla miles
And one Hyundai Elantra(2011 model yr) lasted one million miles. It was a 2011. Don't recall the name. Just under the Sonata.
Great video, Lauren! Thumbs up, Merry Christmas! From the Davis Clan.

I beat my winter Camry, but always keep up with it's maintenance! I can transplant an engine and transmission. But when the 04 Camrod Goes, then, my 19 Camry will. Meh, we have a 22 AWD Camry for that. 4 banger is s l o w.

Kept my 1973 Datsun 1200 (LB-110) for 32 years...until I couldn't get parts for it anymore. Even junkyards had sent any THEY had on their lots to the shredder long ago. Mine had 400K miles on it when the odometer broke...had AT LEAST another 100K-200K miles on it since.
It was a VERY nice AND reliable car. RIP, Datsun 1200... 😞
My current vehicle (2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon) has 17K miles on it.
So far, so good. ;-)

Don't trust 10k mile oil changes, even with synthetic oil. Manufacturers use these long intervals to save cost while they are under free maintenance. Wouldn't go more than 7500 miles max on oil changes. There is a Toyota mechanic on YouTube that goes into detail on why 10k mile oil changes are a bad idea.

Hello Lauren. I enjoy watching your show.
I was one of your instructors at The Glen for about fifteen years. I was wondering if you have any instructor sweat shirts still in your basement. I take an XL.
Your schools were one of the most fun things I've ever done. I expect you will remember me. You always gave me the problem students. That discussion is for another day.
You keep giving us the truth about what is going on.

I don't trust some manufacturers maintenance schedules, Ford for one recommends transmission fluid change at 100k, I did it at 30k and the fluid was black... every 30k is what I do now. Same goes for coolant flush and most other fluid, do them more often than Ford specifies
