Eddie was one of the few times a delinquent metal head in a mainstream show was a hero. Not in a show or movie specifically revolving around folks like this, but a character in a mainstream show. Normally, these guys are antagonists, jerks, jokes, and/or just part of the background. But I was "Eddie" in high school, so yeah, it was nice to finally see a show treat a metalhead as a well-rounded character, not a negative stereotype.

At his metal concert he said "Chrissy this is for you" omg as if I couldn't love him anymore

I love how they initially established Eddie as a no good delinquent and drug dealer, only to completely subvert our expectations. He is nothing but understanding of Chrissy when she approaches him to buy drugs, is like a big brother to the Hellfire Club, and don't even get me started on his sacrifice.

What I liked about him is he’s nice to girls. Aside from that girl he spooked in the cafeteria and his initial dismissal of Erica, he’s gentler and more polite with the female characters he interacts with, like helping Nancy onto the boat or catching/protecting Robin when she falls during the earthquake.

Stranger Things does such a fine job of introducing a character we love in every season, only to kill them off towards the end. This one hurt the most, though, as Eddie was the best of the bunch.

His character is just perfectly written, obviously Joseph is incredible and he makes it amazing but his character is everything you could want in a teen show, I wish he could play this character is more stuff because he is perfect at it but this character in particular is so beautifully written, I cant stress that enough, on paper he is gorgeous, and what Joseph does with that is just amazing, the way he humanized him is a miracle, it's a privilege to watch

Let's not forget that Eddie said "Chrissy, this is for you" before he made an awesome performance.

I don't think Joseph Quinn could have ever guessed that this character would be what it is. There is just something so endearing about him and how he was brought to the screen. You like him instantly, you feel for him, you want him to win. To be denied that victory and to not even have his name be cleared afterwards is heartbreaking. I truly hope that by the end of this, we do see that the towns people understand that he sacrificed himself for them despite how they treated him.

I cried like Niagara Falls for Eddie. He become my favorite character out of Season 4 and my heart broke when Dustin talked with Eddie's uncle about who he really was 😭 💔

I used watch Stranger Things with my mom, and she would have absolutely loved Eddie.
She listened to the same music as him, was a bit of an outsider and geek, and in 1986 she would have been around his age.
She always had a bit of a soft spot for the outsiders in movies, tv-shows, books and so on, and it's probably from her I learned to not judge a book by its cover, though Eddie would probably struck a core for her like he did to me due to the way she probably would be able to identify with him. Unfortunately she passed away before season 4 came out so she was never introduced to this character, but she would have loved him just as much as I do.

If Eddie Munson doesn't come back in Season 5, like Hopper did, I will be very upset. I love him and I cried SO hard with my best friend when he died 😭❤️🥺

YES! Eddie deserves an homage, because he was one of the best characters EVER on this show! Why do I say that? Because Eddie reminded me much of several of my friends in high school in the late 80s. Yes, I love Eleven, Mike, Steve, etc. BUT, Eddie was the most realistic character to my high school years. Eddie rocks!

I just adore his little “Oh!” before after he says “Chrissy, this is for you”. Love everything about him.

If Joe Quinn doesn't get an Emmy for his performance as Eddie Munson, I will be extremely disappointed because dude earned it for how he made us all feel throughout the season.
Eddie's death scene killed me, I was a snotty, tear stained, blubbering wreck over that.

I loved Eddie from the first moment he graced the scene. What really solidified my love for him was how he was always so unapologetically Eddie. That’s the kind of self assurance we all need. We all need to channel our inner Eddie Munson.

The way Eddie stole our hearts from the first scene is so impressive. Despite being new character, he became so loved instantly n even outshone main characters.. Long live Eddie Munson, unsung hero of Hawkins 😢
