Considering that Greece in the past was staunchly anti-Israel, it's pretty remarkable to see the change which has a lot to do with shifting geo political realities in the region (Turkey coddling Hamas, Greece and Israel military and strategic cooperation in the Med. et al).

As a turk living in Germany I never understood the conflict between Turks and Greeks neither had hatred towards them. I had really nice greek friends bc we were so similar in many ways accept religion.

The truth is that very few people outside Israel possess the necessary amount of information to comprehend the Muslim-Israeli conflict. Uninformed Greeks, with a deeply humanistic cultural background will tend to take the side of the weaker part, as they find this a more moral choice. This applies to most "western" people who fail to understand other cultures who don't share the same humanistic values. Golda Meir, the fourth prime minister of Israel addressing the Palestinians once said "I don't hate you for killing my children, I hate you for forcing me to kill yours". Whoever does not understand, just google "martyrdom in Islam" and then you will. As a Greek national, I stand with Israel and with our centuries old friends, the Jewish people and their right to live peacefully in their own ancestral land.

The real question that should have been asked is, who do you support in Cyprus? The Greek or the Turk? Might have got less fence sitters then 😂
