I lived in NYC for 16 years and I have been to my fair share of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades over those years! It's one of those things you JUST HAVE to put on your bucket list! However, if you aren't into the crowds or waiting in long lines for the bathroom, I can see how the parade can be intimidating. In this video, I'll show you all the hacks you need to know to experience the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade like a New Yorker. I'll show you how to get up close with the balloons but not up close to all those hordes of other tourists around.

Thanks for these tips! Do you know when they open the roads back up after the parade is done? I'll need to head to JFK and my hotel is blocked right around the middle of the parade route

am staying at the Herald hotel on 35th street, do you know if we can stand and hold a spot from here, or will it be blocked off? I will have a little one and will need our hotel bathroom near??
