From Michael Schur, executive producer of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Parks and Recreation," comes a smart, unique new comedy that follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, "House of Lies," "Veronica Mars"), an ordinary woman who, through an extraordinary string of events, enters the afterlife where she comes to realize that she hasn't been a very good person. What makes this so brilliant is that Mindy making it to the Medium Place perfectly lines up with how afterlife points work. As @brch2 said down below, Mindy’s developed the CONCEPT for the charity and put up the funding for it, but never actually DID anything. We later learn that pretty much every action ends with negative point values: constructing a charity building would lose you points for clearing the land (deforestation), getting materials (which may not be ethically sourced), installing electricity/utilities (pollution)…But Mindy didn’t have of that assigned to her, because she just drew up the plans and gave all of her money to the cause. The seeds were planted for the big reveal all along. What amazing writing!

This scene implies that the Good Place is activity seeking out new people to join them. Which raises the question, what's gone wrong in the accounting department so that nobody has been sent to the good place in 500years.

I think it's interesting how the Medium Place's eternal mediocrity doesn't destroy Mindy's mind the way the Good Place's eternal happiness destroys people's minds.

[SPOILERS] In season 3, they explain that every action is complex and will likely accrue negative points, which is why even good people don't make enough points to go to the Good Place. But, one coke-fueled action led to perhaps millions of Good Place points without any negatives. This is because it was just one decision made before she died. Mindy isn't the best person in the last 521 years, her action was just a rare case with no complications.

Honestly, after seeing the whole series, I can't help but think that Mindy struck gold. She would've been the first person in millennia to get to the real Good Place had she not died when she did, meaning that she'd have ended up a brain-dead joy zombie like everyone else. In the Medium Place, she was alone in a purposefully mediocre place, yet she's still perfectly normal.
