Cliffe is amazing. I'm about a month into The Bible In a Year and i can't retain even a single bit of it, but he seems to have the whole bible memorized. I wish i was blessed like that so i could fully appreciate the bible. This applies to all areas of my life, theres no point in me reading or watching tv because i can never follow the stories or characters.

If we use "Science" to understand how we are built, then it would stand to suggest that God in some concept used what we call "Science" in our creation. We are the most sophisticated, self sufficient, sustaining and proliferation machine that could ever be created. We toil endlessly with this "Science" in a vainglorious attempt to mimic that perfection. When we inevitably fail we turn around and arrogantly spit on the very model we try to hard to copy. Truly it boils down to our childish egos and selfish pride. Praise Jesus for his sacrifice or else i would be worthy of no more than being spat upon. Thank you, Jesus, I owe you everything.

Just because a text is poetry does not mean it is not literal. Even if a text uses simile or metaphor or symbolism, the words must have literal meanings.

If you trust science ask yourself who made science?

If you trust a rock exploded ask yourself who made the rock?

If you trust in nothing ask yourself who made something.

All sings point to an intelligent Creator. All those law and principles has to come from somewhere. They had to be created as much as any bird or tree did.

My biggest problem with that is if I was God why would I subject my creation to millions of years of bad designs that ultimately improve when I can simply use my power to make it right the first time?

The repetition of evening and morning is evidence that the days were normal 24 hour days and not an unknown, unspecified amount of time. The day started in the evening and would continue through the morning and when it was evening again that would be the start of day 2. That is how the Hebrews measured time.

So glad he's open about his views on this. It would be less of an issue if the text actually required it but the insistence of some on a young Earth as the only valid reading despite the textual issues with it has pushed too many people, especially among my generation, into thinking that Christianity and science are opposed to each other and then they choose science when they see the evidence for an old Earth and for evolution.

The text also repeats “and there was morning and evening on the first, second, third, etc day.” In every other place in The Bible whenever morning, evening, or number are used in conjunction with the word Yom, or day, it is a twenty-four hour day, so why is it only in Genesis that the word Yom means something other than a twenty-four hour period? Maybe it is a twenty-four hour period.
