In this video we show you how to perform a SMC reset on MacBook with Apple Chip or Intel Chip to fix any issues you may be experiencing with your MacBook. SMC or System Management Controller on MacBook on Intel based computer controls the low level functions which is responsible for your MacBook to function correctly. This video is misleading. Apple silicon machines DOES have SMC reset capabilities outside the restart functions! They are simply not integrated within the hardware as closely as before. You need to shut your computer down, unplug the power, wait 10 seconds, replug the power and start again. This will make sure that you clear any electrical stuff that could have been staying in the capacitors during a regular restart. What apple Silicon does NOT do, is PRAM or VRAM reset on their own. That you have to rely on the restart by itself.

Update 2023, MacBook Air 2 M2: I turned off my Bluetooth and the keyboard is working fine, whenever I start to use the apple magic mouse, with the Bluetooth & Magic Mouse on then the keyboard stops, working and the keyboard lights all turn off on the keyboard, like if the keyboard lost power. I don’t know if it’s related to Bluetooth or to the magic mouse.. I’m not sure if it’s related to the magic mouse because as soon as I start using the magic mouse within minutes, the keyboard will stop working

I’m more interested to try to figure out why my MacBook Air M2 chip always has the keyboard turning off and always have to turn it back on, but then anytime of the day when I’m typing the keyboard just turns off again
