The GoPro Hero 10 Black has been one of the biggest camera releases this year. It shoots 4k 120FPS as well as 5.3k 60FPS. With the GoPro Hero 10 Black hypersmooth 4.0 stabilization and amazing Audio, The GoPro Hero 10 Black Looks to be the perfect Vlogging camera. But is it?

I think the ruggedness and being water proof are the only advantages the GoPro has over the Pocket 2 in my opinion. Very thorough comparison. I know it took a min to edit all those clips together.

In my opinion that was a clear win from the P2. Yes the GP is waterproof but hey, it’s an action cam, it’s expected. The colour profiles of the cameras are both good but the P2 just looks more natural. GP had noise, sound quality of the P2 is clearer too. Stabilisation not much in it, a negligible difference and again the GP is an action cam so again expected.

Let’s have a look at price too and the DJI is nearly half the price!!!

GP has improved 100% but the P2 has SMASHED IT !!!

Hi Itz Sky,

Just subbed and like your laid back approach.

Bought the GP10 and it’s on the way and just won a bid for the Poc2 on Ebay for a good price.

The use cases are totally different as below:
1) waterproof and/or action sports, daylight, good stabilization with horizon leveling, vlogging with dual screen, live streaming, etc. GP10 all day. If you need all day shooting, get a Ulanzi battery grip BG-2/3/4.
2) for lowlight, DR, IQ, skin tones, good stabilization, Poc2 all day.

It’s no surprise that Poc2 does better in lowlight with a 1/1.7” sensor (vs 1/2.3”) and faster aperture f1.8 (vs f2.8). The bad thing with GP is that hypersmooth needs lots of light to perform well so either in lowlight or when using ND filters to get motion blur, it craps out as it needs shutter speed to be high and not the 180deg angle rule.

But GP does have higher frame rates with 5.3K at 60fps, 4K at 120fps, 2.7K at 240fps that Poc2 cannot do. The 5.3K will have more details if you zoom in. It also has schedule capture for timelapse, Hindsight, Liveburst shooting, duration capture, voice activation, etc that Poc2 doesn’t have.

For stabilization, if you use extreme sports in bright daylight, the GP will hands down win as well when the Max Mod is allowed in Nov, then it’ll be no comparison.

So just get both and end the debates on which is better! 🤣

I also have the ZV-1 and Insta360 1” and the ZV-1 is still the king for lowlight with a 1” sensor and a fast f1.8 aperture and great autofocus. It is also portable and pocketable as well.

Hi, what do you recommend for filming children, moving motion and close-up filming in general. To be as clear as possible the image of children up close. In general, when you make presentations, you do more to filming landscapes, but I am interested in clear filming at least 4k 60fps close to children and people. Education activities for children / parents. Thank you.

Good video. I have the Hero 10 but am considering adding the Pocket 2. They are very different--both have advantages and disadvantages, but the biggest difference to me is the GoPro has weather sealing and is VERY rugged. The low light comparisons were very interesting--would use the Pocket 2 at night if the weather permitted. Thanks--also I have subbed!

You got a bunch of DJI fans on here but I'm all GOPro all day everyday! Nothing beats a camera you can do just about everything with and with the media and light mod, low light ain't nothin but a breeze to deal with and not to mention the media mod gives you better sound quality!

It feels like the Pocket 2 looks a bit more cinematic? Like a little less digital, as opposed to GoPro 10! Idk if the sensor size is making this difference! But honestly, I only use my Pocket 2 when I film in controlled environments, just because of how fragile it is! GoPro can be tossed around without fear of breaking and thats why I love it haha! But you are answering a good question, I was wondering about the comparison too!

Edit: Pocket 2 is sooo much better in low light wow! And You literally changed my mind about selling my Pocket 2 😅

That low light comparison is the reason why I would always go for the Pocket. The only situation a GP would be better is with rain or snow, but for that I have an Osmo Action😏

Great breakdown. Only issue is you did not color grade at all with the DJI. Thats the point of a flat profile.
