This is what annoys me with Neil. I'm fine with him giving out facts and figures, but this is opinion and he acts like he's the authority on it. Even the way he speaks is smug and arrogant. He names the two figures, one went to the moon and the other inspired by it, but who is he? A TV personality? Carl Sagan believed that we want to go exploring into space. He believed that it was that mentality that got us to where we are now. Elon, who wants to explore Mars, is that very thing that Neil says isn't what's pushing for exploration. I don't know how he can leave that out in making this self aggrandizing commentary. Insults buzz in our face, not his.

This is why I don’t like degrasse-Tyson. This is such an arrogant move on his part. To speak on his personal opinion like it’s an authoritative statement. And then to snub buzz aldrin like that is just ridiculous. I mean sure buzz isn’t an Astro physicist, but he’s been to the moon. Have you Neil? Don’t get me wrong, the guy is smart, and people in my age group who grew up watching public television has learned a lot from him. But, what has he accomplished that many in his field haven’t already accomplished? Nothing that I know of. He is an educator, a good speaker, and an author. Buzz on the other hand is an Air Force veteran, and one of the few people that actually stood on the surface of our moon.

Buzz aldrin, and the apolo program, proved that there is no limit to what man can achieve in a country that doesnt limit how high its people can reach. That the American spirit is what makes America GREAT.
