I’ve jailbroken my first iPhone 3G when i was 12 (actually bricked it on my first try). The adrenaline that runned down your spine when you saw all those white lines of code on the screen and the DFU mode deal having to press a certain combination of buttons for several seconds. So much nostalgia 😭

I completely agree. I've been jailbreaking since I had a 2nd generation iPod touch in 6th grade. It's very nostalgic and and kinda sad Saurik isn't that interested in keeping Cydia updated. However, it's nice to see him still wanting jailbreaking to be alive. Saurik has done more than enough for the jailbreaking community and I salute him for that. If we don't know what the future for Cydia holds, it's time to move on from it. It was nice while it lasted, but it's about time Cydia has been put to rest.

I remember Rock and Cydia had a competition back in the day (during iOS 2.2 Days). Rock died out because it didn't support future firmwares like iOS 3. So Cydia became the main package installer for iOS.

I have been using the Cydia since 2010. It always used to hit my mind that the UI of the Cydia was not quite attractive. Yet, every time the jailbreak gets released it felt so good. It’s been 8 years dealing with same functionality and UI. So wanna experience the uniqueness of Sileo. Hopefully soon. ✌🏻

Cydia has always been in every jailbroken device I've had, of course. I would find it pretty sad to have a different package manager installed as I am used to Cydia being there. Who knows? This could be a new era of jailbreaking, or a total game changer, can't wait what the future of jailbreaks have in store for us..

Cydia alternatives were Rock, Icy, and another I seem to remember.
I remember jailbraking my OG iPhone using ZiPhone, and having to do some button gymnastics, like hold power for 5 seconds, then power and home, release power, but hold home for 5 seconds, lol.

All I can say is that I really appreciate what YOU do (staying ups till 4-5am etc) to help shlubs like me Jailbreak "safely", or at least with less anxiety if not for your efforts.

Everyone in the jailbreak in the community should simply get along. Yeah we all know coolstar and Saurik doesn’t get along but thing about the amazing work that would get done if they did just for the community!

No matter what comes and Go “Saurik” will always be the 🐐 as for Electra I thinks it’s really Great move from them to update Cydia to least firmware. Lookin forward to Electra team (let’s see what they brought to Table)

I remember i first jailbroken my iPhone 4 using safari, seeing that black screen with that white code running on my screen i got so scared, I thought what did i just download thinking it was malware. Ive been waiting since ios 8.3 . I miss dreamboard, callbar, the most . This Jailbreak still a little buggy.

Cydia will be missed when the time comes... there's literally thousands possibly of themes and tweaks all over Cydia, for each individual os release it'd be awesome to see them all though it's not possible.

Am i the only one who remembers Rock? I actually liked it back in the day. Icy wasn't all that great. However Rock was a lot more speedy then Cydia and no issues installing no Errors poping up like Cydia does out of the blue. Oh does anyone remember Install0us? was amazing for getting free apps. I like App Cake but eh...
