After a thousand years of peace after the Great Hyperspace War, the spirit of a Jedi, turned Sith enticed Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma and Aleema Keeto to the dark side. These individuals would unleash the Great Sith War, pitting the Mandalorians, the droids of the Krath and the forces of the Sith against the Republic. Although they were defeated, this war destabilised the Republic, resulting in many decades of war.

I believe Darth Bane also later found Freedon Nadds holocron on Dxun, and then got infected by orbalisk. Nadd changed the galaxy for the worse for many years after his end

You’re giving Nadd way too much credit. He’s technically a failed Sith apprentice, he was on Onderon because he failed to kill his master and ran away terrified.
