I think the fact that it requires a battery to work is a deal breaker for me. But I couldn't afford it anyway.

It doesn’t require a battery to work. The regular pickups are passive, the battery is JUST for the piezo

I have one of these, not the piezo version though, so no battery required. Personally I love it and think it's amazing. Handles all styles incredibly well, excellent tuning stability and I find it incredibly easy and smooth to play. I'm also amazed by how well it handles literally any effects you put on it, much better than any of my other guitars, but it also has a brilliant tone straight into amp. For me it's a 10/10 but obviously that would vary person to person depending on preferences

I have this guitar. It’s the most incredible thing I’ve ever heard. I can play it through my acoustic PA system and ENGL tube amp simultaneously and use the knobs to swell between the 2. Or run both humbuckers and 6 piezos through my ENGL using the “mix” jack for absolutely celestial distortion.

I think your new guitar is a match for you, suits your style. I have no experience with PRS, I like Gibson myself, because they don’t give me anything to complain about. You spent a lot of money on this guitar, more than I would care to spend, so I hope your able to resolve some of these issues.

Great objective review. I have an s e twenty 408, and it is an extraordinary guitar, and it's great to see that you are objective and willing to say what you did not like.Although prs guitars are fantastic, not every guitar is for every player, so i'm glad that you are so objective
