Absolute Hypocrisy - IRA sex abuse victim hits out at Sinn Féin

Two men who were the victims of child sexual abuse by a prominent IRA member, which they claim Sinn Féin later covered up, have accused the party’s leader Mary Lou McDonald of “absolute hypocrisy”.

Abuse victim Paudie McGahon said that he and a second man who were raped as teenagers by an IRA volunteer have “been left sickened and disgusted” by Ms McDonald’s efforts to extricate the party from recent scandals.

He was speaking following the revelation that ex-party press officer Michael McMonagle was given work references by two other party officials, while he was under investigation for child sexual abuse offences.
