I wondered why John was punished, Barry time travels all the time without spectre levels of punishment and just being the one to suggest it being damned seemed a little much, but of course it was Johnnie's usual brand of mess around and find out. Thing is all they did was end an avatar of Darkseid. He is a higher dimensional being. And cannot enter the third dimension without breaking it.
