The House of Mystery wasn't supposed to punish Constantine essentially. Constantly actually created those monsters out of his friends because that's how he viewed them... He was supposed to live in eternity with his friends, kids, wife and between all of them use the House of Mysteries to create a sort of paradise for them

that energy that seems to be destroying the universe, is very similar to the way that the anti-monitor's energy rays were drawn in some comics. Maybe they're trying to adapt Crisis on Infinite Earths into the tomorrowverse and the reason the Specter is torturing Constantine is like he's going to be the Pariah of this adaptation
