One tip. i always go into Google Maps and download the area I'm traveling to for offline use. As long as you have GPS reception (which should be always) you can search for locations and get directions.

I just found your channel. The video I watched was with your dad on the Kancamagus Highway. I gave a like when your dad was singing. He's cool😊 God bless, Karen

You would make an excellent teacher, or professor. ***You're so interesting, do thorough research, have EXPERIENCED what you share with us, and present info so well. Thank you, for your ALWAYS enjoyable videos, Josh and "Pops"...I hope that's okay.🤞👏👏🍃🍁🍂

3:42 This is Sleepy Hollow Farm. Just a heads up Cloudland Road, which is the dirt road where the farm is located will be CLOSED to tourists from late September to mid October 2023 due to some tourists being disrespectful to private property, leaving trash, and being verbally abusive to locals living nearby.
Also its been very rainy this summer and most hiking trails will be wet and muddy. If you plan on stretching your legs with a little hike, maybe bring some extra socks, shoes.
This video is one of the more informative posts I've seen on the subject, really well done.
I live in Vermont and fall is my favorite season so I can hardly wait!

Wow, never would have guessed about the cell phone reception!
Any plans on doing a full video on your favorite short Fall hike, just to give more of the full experience?

When i grew up in Mass the only thing those yellow and red leaves meant was, how many bags of leaves do we need to rake this year? lol Love the videos !

Love your videos. Makes me miss my Dad and brings back wonderful memories of our trips together. He planned summer trips for our family for years while I was growing up… and he really appreciated going on trips I planned as an adult. These included a backpacking trip to Yellowstone, two Route 66 roadtrips, and hiking trip of the circuit of High Sierra camps in Yosemite as a retirement gift. Enjoy your times together!

Really helpful. We are travelling to Boston, Vermont and New Hampshire at the beginning of October, so your videos have been super informative. Thank you.

MAINE!! Take that from a lifelong Mass. resident. We drove up Rt. 1 along the coast then north back highways to Katadhin, the mountain at the top of the Appalachian trail, and I have NEVER seen such vivid and continuous color in my life, and I am over 55. Plenty of forgotten American history, like the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War in Machias, where, also, the river is beautiful any season.

We were there about the same time you were, but in our small trailer. Our month or so in New England was one of our most expensive time periods in the last year and a half of full-timing. Campgrounds were pricey and I had a $22 glass of wine in Bar Harbor. Not even a nice glass and it was in a plastic cup 🤣 BUT fall there was magical! In New Hampshire we had a lakefront site and I was 100% mesmerized by the reflections of the trees. Just stunning! Bummer we didn’t run in to you somewhere! Fantastic video as always Josh.

The Phone tip is priceless! Many mapping applications like Google maps and Apple Maps. Allow you to download an area and keep it off-line. I’m gonna make sure I do that before I get to New Hampshire. Thank you. Vs

We are taking a trip this Oct (2023) about the same time you were there. Did you have to pay to get into any of the parks and to walk around the Trapp family Resort? Thanks for the info. I added a few things to my trip I saw on here.

I loved that video but I get all of the beautiful fall foliage I need here in Northern New Jersey. There are beautiful mountains here and in lower Ny state.

I bought your ebook, which I think is a great idea so I don't have to try to write furiously as you're talking. 😀 One question I had was about the app you used, the Gypsy Guide. Did that download everything to your phone so it didn't matter that the internet was cutting out, or was it a problem using it when there was no connection?

FYI, the link at the bottom wasn't clickable, but the QR code works.

Thanks for the information!

Sometimes the Atlas or a road map can work in poor signal areas.

thanks for the video! i think it's also expensive b/c these are smaller new england towns vs big metropolitan cities where they have more hotels/accomodations. more hotels = more competition, so prices will be lower.
