#LeaveNoQuestionUnanswered #LOSTexplained

The twenty-third chapter in a series of LOST EXPLAINED videos that investigate the mythology and mysteries from the seminal television series LOST. These definitive explanations are based on multiple viewings of the show over the years and careful studying of the details, clues, inconsistencies and contradictions that make up the complex tapestry of what is the greatest television show from the 2000s.

Chapter Twenty-Three lays out the likely history of the Egyptians, whose structures stand the test of time and crop up all over the island within the show. This video will explain the cork, the temple, the summoning chamber(s), the wheel, the statue, the tapestry and hieroglyphs, and the ultimate nature of the island's Egyptian civilization. We will also finally settle the debate on *when* exactly the Egyptians were on the island (was it before or after 'Across the Sea'?), but there are many questions to answer here, such as: why did they build these structures? What was their relationship to Jacob and the Man in Black? Why and how did they die out? All this and much, much more will be revealed in this video.

This is easily one of the most insightful video series on the internet. I can’t imagine the amount of research that went into each of these episodes. Excellent job breaking down this television series.

That's totally worth a spin-off season of its own... Just imagine that.

I'm gonna need to watch that again...

Man, what a video. This whole series of Lost Explained has been 10/10. I went back to check if there was a marked location in the Lamp Post showing the island being in the Mediterranean at one point. The Med isn't really shown on screen, unfortunately. Creators missed a nice link by not showing us that.

Man, I rewatched it a year later and I just say that your put more effort here than hollywood producers put in their movies. Incredibly, insightful and logical video. Much love!

Dude, such a GREAT work !!!! The island's past has so many interesting stories to tell, we only saw a story from the perspective of the oceanic survivors. Lost has so much potential for a spin-off, god only knows how much I would like to see something Lost-related again

I started my rewatched a few weeks ago after just finishing it months prior, after not seeing it since it ended in 2010. Im on season 3 now and it’s bizarre how much sense everything makes on the second watch, and how much more you pick up on that made no sense before.

Without your videos I’d still be pretty lost though, you put things in perspective better than I ever could. Ive watched almost all of your content and it gives me a whole new appreciation for the show. I’ve always been fascinated and wondered about the Egyptians in Lost, I can’t wait to watch this video tonight. Thank you for the awesome content.

Great video. I remember back in the day there were so many theories about the Egyptian all used to get crazily invested in them. Then ofcourse the crushing disappointment when the show didn't really seem to go anywhere with it. This might help some of these fans get closure.

The Egyptians are the one part of the show I felt could have got more focus! This video series is great for pointing out small answer giving details. I never notice the significance of Jacob's tapestry showing the timeline of the Egyptians and the fact that they left the Island oneday!! I always assumed somehow theyd ALL been killed but it literally shows boats leaving on the tapestry! Wild stuff. I deff like to think Jacob sent them away so the rest wouldnt be distroyed. Love the interpretation on these Temple and the summoning chamber as well!

Hi again. This just might be your crowning glory. I've always met some resistance when attempting to assert that the Egyptians were centuries later than the events of "Across The Sea", but you make a compelling case here. The translation of the hieroglyphs in particular is enlightening and your entire chronology leaves little room for reasonable doubt. I can only say "thanks" for now, but doubtlessly, I'll return with at least one related question. 🤔 In the meantime, take a bow.

Once this series of mysteries is over (I assume they will soon run out) you could do a series analyzing the episodes, the stories, the arcs, the characters, the elements, etc. There's lots of things in Lost to be further explained and understood. And you seem to have a different, more profound and sensitive view in all the things you bring here in this channel about the show.

I never noticed the detail with a piece of tapestry ripped out. Great find. I also appreciate the translations and lessons on Egyptian history.

Thank you for mentioning the Hindus. I am tired that everyone are just giving the Egyptians all the credit, while I think it's obvious that several civilization came and left, died out and fought against each other. It's just that either many had Egyptians helping out since the Egyptian area overlapped a lot or that the builders were referencing them, like the Swan referencing the Egyptians. Like you said, The Temple includes a lot of Asian features, with Hindu iconography and Hindu temple architecture. There's a statue of Brahma there. And a mural of possibly Durga (the goddess with ten arms and several heads. Could be built during the Khmer empire (9th century - 15th century). You also have the rope bridge (possible Mayan), which illustrates the point of "they come, they fight, they destroy, they corrupt". History repeating itself with various civilizations, often mixed together. Further illustrated with Oceanic 815 that have people with vast histories (Paik/Kwon family=Asia, Hurley=South America, Sayid=Iraq and further back you have Mesopotamia and so on).

Wow, this is awesome. Lost is my favorite show of all time but mainly for the characters. I never really followed the mystery that closely. I'm not sure I every really understood the foot statue.

If Lost aired today there would be so much more surrounding the mystery because of the internet. I know some people were into online communities back when Lost aired but not nearly as much as today.

Your whole series is fantastic. I think I'm going to go back and do a full Lost rewatch after you finish. It'll give me a brand new perspective and a lot of stuff will seem brand new.
