John Is one of the most interesting character of LOST

I think Richard was also disappointed Locke chose the knife because it's an indication of the violent tendencies that might make him a poor leader. Richard, like Jacob, wants to believe in the inherent good of humanity and eventually grows dissatisfied with Widmore and Ben's leadership in part because of how bloodthirsty they are. If Locke had chosen the book, this would show a strong sense of justice more fitting for the leader of the Others.

I'm so glad you make videos about specific events! These are definetely the missing pieces we lost fans need to link our old impressions to actual shown facts! Always found that test and little Jonh's smoke drawing so intriguing!

The knife was an obvious and natural pick for John.
Who had a doubt he was going to take that?
The "Hidden Land" comic book underneath it is also a nice detail.

Another faultless video, i actually look forward to watching them, because you know literally everything about the show, when other people find it very complicated. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain in full detail what’s going on, your amazing keep up the hard work! (whatever your name is) you’re incredible!💯💖

Young Locke choosing the knife is because he was going to be a hunter type guy on the island. He was going to be a candidate but an outsider candidate chosen by the Island to fulfill MIB's design to kill Jacob.

Richard couldn't grasp this.

Your channel is definitely my favourite one! Your work demonstrates how it's not so difficult to find logical explanations to all those elements of the show that have remained a little obscure, showing that there are solutions to all the questions left apparently "unanswered". Bravo!!

You can read the comic Locke was given online. Some of the stories overlap a little with Lost. Great fun. Great video as always.

The comic book with the knife is a interesting one. While it seems Richard placed the comic as a red hearing. Locke choosing the knife on the comic tells a interesting story when you take it into account with everything else. On the comic is the tales of the "Hidden land!". What Richard missed is the book of laws is about leadership. But the knife and the comic, shows that it's Locke's destiny to find the island and not being taken to it.

Think of the box of knives that John had in his luggage. So, he chose the knife but Richard didn’t know John was a knife expert!

Lost did the character of John Locke dirty. His life was horrible. One tragedy after another. He is murdered by Ben, who gets to live out his life doing good work with Hurley. And even when he is at the church at the end, he is the only one of the group who is alone and sitting by himself. John Locke lived a life of hell and got nothing in return.

I remember in one of the episodes when john was a teenager his school teacher asked him to join a summer camp and the invitation was from "Dr. Albert" but the young and angry john refused it.

Went back to your video about who shot at Locke, Juliet, and Sawyer when they were in the kayak and that got me wondering who specifically attacked with the flaming arrows at the beginning of season five, which finished off the last of the extra 815 survivors?

Thank you for your time and energy. I'd like to know the reason why Ben wasn't chosen by jacob instead of Locke

Thanks for providing logical answers to some questions I still had about Locke first being tested as a child by Richard. Awesome work !

I think it's interesting that instead of Richard simply finding the drawing among his stuff on the table, that it is hung up on the wall. Why would any foster mother hang up a drawing like that? Maybe John became angry when she took it down the first time - subconscioully channeling his anger and pain he'll endure through the coming decades -that she got frightened and just left it up on the wall.
