Don’t over estimate yourself and under estimate others

Intellect is not only about being right but also admitting when your wrong.

I remember seeing him on some kind of a show where they asked Jordan Peterson what his biggest fear was and I think the answer was somewhere in the ballpark of not knowing enough or kind of feeling stupid. I'm paraphrasing of course and I just remember thinking that is just too high of a bar to set and must be so stressful. I was always told in the medical field that the more you know the less you know. Meaning that we don't even realize how much knowledge is out there. it's almost inconceivable, but you start to learn things and even more possibilities emerge in your head. Such an honorable and intellectual man with a beautiful family. just wish he wouldn't put so much pressure on himself like that. It's too stressful and he seems to be a very good guy

Highly intelligent people are actually more self doubting than arrogant.

Intelligence is good to cut through arguments

It doesn’t always allow you to see you’re hurting peoples feelings cause you’re to busy proving them wrong

Go beyond thy own “greatness”.

WOW. Who knew Dirty Harry's quote "a man's got to know his limitations" was so deep.

Absolutely correct. Read also "in the light of truth" to really appreciate this understanding. Thank you sir.

The title of this video “The Struggles of Being Highly Intelligent” is sort of misleading. What Jordan Peterson is actually trying to say is that regardless of your IQ, falling in love with oneself too much can cause issues like antisocial behavior and tendencies. Antisocial meaning you want everything your way since you’ve decided that your way is the best way, caused by overinflated pride. In some sense, you might think you’re smart and that your way is the only way, but that is the condition of somebody whom is egotistical and that attitude can be dangerous to oneself and others affected.

This message is a wake up call!!! Let us contemplate every single sentence! Thank you Professor. Lucifer falls in love with his own productions and because of his pride and arrogance he thinks there is nothing outside of what you think which is characteristic of totalitarian mentality. No humility at all!

I thought this was going to be about something else. My struggle is with the constant need for the pursuit of knowledge, knowing that I know next to nothing, no matter how much I keep learning. It's never enough.

As a highly intelligent person, I know my shit stinks. That's the easy part. I have no quams about being wrong. I care about problem solving and solutions and I dont care if the ideas come from me or someone else or who is right or wrong. The problem can become there could be many solutions and it takes a lot of time, patience, and introspection to pick amongst the best ones. The energy expenditure can be downright draining.

Knowing your faults and weaknesses and constantly searching for knowledge and truth is incredibly taxing; I have to convince myself the hole has a bottom and ill eventually reach it but I wont. It's an abyss. It's a light at the end of the tunnel that has no end; I will never reach that light. Like the Joker, I'm a dog chasing cars who never catches the car. I think I can but I never will. That's the internal struggle that bangs around in my brain every day.

In my life I've restrained my gift to be used only in defending those attacked by arrogant intellectuals. I've remained hidden under humor.

Majority of the time we are aware of what’s the truth and we are right in a sense that our way is the right way, because we have the ability to feel when something is off everyone has it. But people have a way of presenting beautiful lies to you and to manipulate you to get you to see it their way when they know deep down that it’s bs! We have to trust our gut but also respect and surround ourselves with good people. The problem with that is everyone is changing daily no one stays the same it’s just our habits and what we choose to believe that is actually the issue. I’m not making any excuse for anyone but sometimes applying ourselves as better overall people everyday we wouldn’t have to be deceived by anyone else because we would know that we can trust them. For an example let’s say I go presenting myself to a woman saying how I’m this and I’m that and can do this I have all this. She wouldn’t know right off the back if I’m that type of person really because what she can see is from what I present to her maybe looking true but eventually I’ll have to stop trying to impress her and show who I really am and what I have to offer. I may have given her something to doubt but when we met I presented a lie soo beautiful to her that she went against her gut and gave me a chance anyways. Is it her fault or my fault for deceiving her and painting a picture of who I was or is it me for approaching her as a false image?

That's where midwitery comes from. A person, who more often than not is somewhat to highly intelligent, stagnating due to their own arrogance. And blaming society for their lack of success. People are always capable of doing this, and I believe it is a constant battle to keep it in check, even if you are intelligent and aware and successful. I'm not super intelligent or aware (working towards it one day), I am pretty comfortable and work decently hard. I still do struggle with these illusions of grandeur.
