Pirates is slightly more impressive than Endgame in one major respect, and that is they made a workable trilogy from a film that no one expected a sequel let alone a trilogy from, and they nicely tied together all the threads that were present in that first film to a satisfying conclusion. Too bad they didn't leave it alone with that.

Just goes to show a simple plot can still be good with good writing. "Get the key, then get the chest" is a video-game level story structure, but if you get it right, it still shines.

Elizabeth is not an unmemorable passive passenger:
She’s the only person who found the chest
She wanted to find the chest to save Will because she thought he was held captive on the Dutchman.
She had to fight off Jones’ crew to keep the chest which will help them escape
She was disarmed so she can’t participate in a sword fight neither did she want to
She is the only main character that commits crimes (armed robbery/stowaway/murder) to achieve her goals and completes her arc in becoming a pirate by finally betraying someone.

Tbh it is really nice and refreshing seeing praise going to a Pirates movie that isn't the first one and since this is my favourite out of the bunch I am so glad you decided to randomly make and upload this.

I think Elizabeth's story in Dead Man's chest was not forgettable. I feel like her character bloomed by the final act of the film. That betrayal scene with the kiss really shocked me. This showed me that she is a character that you can't underestimate. Ever since the first film, she wanted to be with the pirates, by the end of the second film, she became one.

Man, this video made me realize just how underrated Dead Man's Chest is. People often talk about the first one for its ingenuity and the third one for its massive scale, but I guess they forgot about how emotionally charged and high-stakes the second movie was. I think the comparisons to Infinity War are pretty spot on too, and - with that in mind - it makes me appreciate the second movie a whole lot more.
