One thing people never seem to appreciate is the acting done by the extras. Each one of them brings something, no matter the size of their role. For instance, in this scene alone each prisoner has a different reaction, 4 cower and look down, 1 stares blank faces and the last sits defiantly looking at Jones with his head held high (until jones gives the order to execute). I’ve always loved watching the extras, they make a scene so much more without people realising it.

"sees this scene, when I expected him to try to recruit new people on the ship, but then doesn't" Yep, definitely Dead Man's Chest. 2-3 may be a two part film of sorts but the moment you see Davey Jones til the end of the film knowing he's gotten screwed and others are not going to be pleased either after all the struggles they had was too great. No wonder why he gets voted usually at the top of disney villains just below Scar (original Scar not 2019 soulless garbage scar). Bill Nighy is an amazing actor, and it's honestly shocking to see that's mostly CGI for how good the movement on his face always is.
