I dropped Direct TV because of cost. I no longer pay $25 a month for a DVR plus $7 Per TV in the house. I went from $130 a month to $40 then Added HULU for $5.99 and I get more than enough TV selection !! Way Better than when I had Direct TV. I also pushed out subscriptions to my Kids which saves them money. I have however become a Tremendous Salesman for Youtube TV by helping my senior citizen friends convert to streaming Youtubetv. So far everyone thinks its a great replacement for Satellite or Cable TV.

If YouTube included YouTube premium in the YouTube TV subscription then I'd switch immediately.

I've had YouTube TV for over a year, and I love it. I share it with 5 other family members. Which cost us each $10 a month for over 60 channels and unlimited recording. I watch on my LG Smart TV, laptop and tablet.

This was by no means a REVIEW of the service. You essentially reviewed what it is but not how it works

I had Uverse TV and internet for several years. In my area, we have only two choices. AT&T or Spectrum. Cost was too high, so we dumped the TV side and kept the internet. Used an indoor antenna for the TV’s, but still had loosing signal issues since the tower was soo far away

We now have YouTube TV running on two TV’s and using the app on our cell phones and iPads. Love the unlimited Cloud DVR and being able to record several shows or movies at the same time. Have both Smart TV’s set to the max resolution level and picture quality is perfect.

Have had no issues with using YouTube TV and will never go back to Uverse or Spectrum which we have never used.

I love YOUTUBE TV! I have had it for a few months... I love it!!!! Have it on 3 TVs, plus the unlimited DVR.. And you can watch live TV on your tablet, phone and all devices... So far we love it! It has everything I need . the price isn't the cheapest, but in my opinion it's worth it!

They should change it to GoogleTV. Because it's more mainstream name and soon there will be an AppleTV and that name in and of itself will sell quickly. Separate Youtube from TV

We made the switch 2 years ago from satellite to YouTube TV. Best decision we made!! It is half the price of our satellite bill and we get all the sports channels my husband could want. We are a family of 6 and love the unlimited DVR. Also when it rains, we don’t lose the signal!! We get our local channels (Minneapolis/St. Paul). YouTube TV is the only way to go!!!

All these new services need to let you pick 20 channels of more for the rigth price.I watch about 10 to 12 only.

The problem with DVR on Youtube TV is there are cases where it's no different than watching a show On Demand. You can "DVR" a show but you are still forced to watch commercials you can't fast forward past. The only way I have found a way around this is to have a show play muted in the background when you're doing something else. After the show finishes you can "rewatch" it without commercials. If anything makes me leave YouTube TV it's the DVR with non-skippable commercials.

UPDATE: On April 10, 2019 YouTube TV increased its price to be $49.99/mo. instead of $40/mo.

Also, in this video, we goofed up by saying that NBA TV is only available on YouTube TV. It's not. The difference is that for most other streaming providers, it doesn't come included in their base packages. FuboTV seems to be the only exception.

I have YouTube TV and I love it. I tried all of the other services and for me this seems to be the best one. I really don't even watch TV like that anymore outside of sports movies and a few TV shows I follow up with. The user layout is the best on the market in my opinion and the DVR setup is the best compare to others.

I do wish they added a few more other channels or add it as a package deal. But overall I'm happy with the experience and I've been a customer since they roll the service out back in 2017

Dropped xfintiy double play, went to Twitter & got an internet only deal, picked up YouTubeTV. I won't be going back to Xfinity...their remote is nice but their guide is all over the place w/ no rhyme or reason to it & duplicate channels everywhere. YTTV guide is way nicer & THEY ALLOW YOU TO PUT YOUR CHANNELS IN WHATEVER ORDER YOU WANT! Noone else does that! Not to mention the Unlimited DVR, 6 accounts, 3 streams, very generous live tv buffer for rewinding live tv... I wish I'd done it sooner, it's so much better than cable in a lot of ways. I'm actually paying less for internet + YTTV than I was for Xfinity's Double Play.

I am that person you were talking about who is new to streaming TV and I am impressed with YouTube TV, here is why.
1) Local TV - I have poor TV reception where I live and this is a way to get local content without moving the antenna around the room when I want to change channels (yeah, that's still a thing).
2) Interface - I feel it's fairly user friendly.
3) DVR - I agree with the review from this video, it's awesome, no complaints. This is my first DVR experience, so that should be taken into consideration.
4) Sports- I am a sports fan and it's pretty much like having a cable sports pack. There are a few channels I would like to have (like Root Sports NW, if your reading this YouTube), but overall I'm satisfied.
5) It's painless to drop and add - If I only want to purchase YouTube TV for football season so I can get the local Fox channel (bad reception) then I can do so with a click of a mouse and drop the service just as easily. No returning cable boxes, calling customer service or any kind of hoop jumping.
6) Not many garbage channels - This is purely objective, but it really does seem like they try to deliver content that is worth paying for, which is far more than I can say for Spectrum who offers a ton of channels that no one watches.

My one complaint, I wish I could just purchase access to the local channels for $10 a month because I really don't watch that much TV.

Personal background: I have done trials of Playstation Vue and Sling, neither offered local content (no local sports or local news, just National Broadcasts). I had Spectrum, which was ok, but I hated their forced cable box "rentals" and the process of dropping them or dealing with them under ANY circumstance.

It doesn't matter what they offer if the reception is so bad it is effectively unwatchable.

What kind of review is this.... it tells me nothing about what's in it....i don't care about the money they making or not making

I'm with directv now..they raised prices about 6 months ago and it looks like they will be going up again in a month or two and if that happens then I'll be moving to YouTube tv

You can buy it month by month...not pay when you sport season is over...try that with cable.

I think we should start with the fact that there isn’t a perfect solution, at least from one company. I have a combination of YouTube TV and Philo which give me everything I want except the NFL Network. YouTube TV has the best DVR and unlike PS Vue when I want to record a single game I can record one game and not all of them. Philo also has a really good DVR and it fills in just about everything that YouTube TV doesn’t. Lastly, even with having to have two services I still come out $5 cheaper than Directv Now and $15 cheaper than Sling with a 1000x better DVR.
