Analog Man’s BEST Pedals!

I’ve often said that companies don't make things, people do. To understand why Analog Man is great, you need to know that Analog Man is a person. His name is Mike Piera, and he got started in the mid ’80s, around 1985, when he moved to Japan to be a software engineer. While working in Japan, he started seeing vintage guitars and effects pedals that he'd never seen in the States, just a universe of crazy interesting, collectible stuff. He started tinkering around, recreating some of these rare effects, and modifying things for friends.

One thing led to another, Mike started a pedal company, and the rest is history.

His site still looks like the second or third site on the internet.

Can we take a minute and appreciate Nick for always going hard on the drums?! Kudos Nick! These episodes wouldn’t work without you!

My King of Tone just arrived about two months ago. Beautiful pedal. I was on the wait list for two and a half years. Worth the wait and the price.

Even though I love BOSS pedals, I never cared much for the DS-1 Distortion. However, about 2 months ago, I came across an early 2000's DS-1, (in the box with all the box candy!!), at a yard sale for $25. I was thrilled when I opened the box and it had the Analogman sticker on it! I truly love this pedal! It has more mid range to it now. It is a mainstay on my board. Side note: at that very same yard sale, I ended up with a mid-2000's EHX Small Clone, a Digitech Bad Monkey, (better than I thought it would be!), a Line 6 Roto Machine, and finally, the star of the show: a 1982 BOSS CE-2 Chorus in MINT condition, also with the box and candy!!! I gave $115 for everything, (including the $25 for the DS-1). I'll never stumble on a deal like that again...

I literally am in love with the way Josh talks about pedals. This is one of my favorite channels on YouTube

“Another One Stays Alive” 😂😂😂. Josh, you just might be the king of sort of playing well known artist’s music without getting yourself demonetized!

You left Nick hanging on Heavy Metal Airship. You should've come back in.

I know I mentioned this before... Josh 's fresh sounding riffs are sooo unique! 5 billion guitar players (including me) would come up with blues rock riffs we already heard 5 billion times before. 😊

That was very cool! Mike has been a great friend going back to the 90's. I love his stuff, and I still a Bi-Comp and an Analog Man Chorus on my pedalboard.

Josh, you are one of the classiest persons in existence! You give a lot of attention and credit to competitors! We benefit from your fair and honest coverage of so many pedals.

I never knew that Analog Man’s story goes back that far. Very cool to hear the history behind some of these brands

I've never met Mike in person, but I've known him and have used his pedals and mods since 2000. He builds fantastic stuff and it's just a fun loving guy who loves music. I've still got the chorus he built me. It was the first one to have a three way depth switch and isn't in the standard box. Love it

This might be my favorite of your surveys of other pedal makers. I do so appreciate your generosity of attention and spirit. + the drummer freak out was hilarious!

Mike is a kick-ass dude who makes kick-ass pedals and waiting 17 months for my King of Tone was well worth it. It is not over-priced (unless you find a gouger on ebay/Reverb) and, much like the Klon, it's not Mike who is responsible for the stupid resale pricing. I say, get on the list and then just go about your life until you get your email!

I've been singing the praises of Analog.Man's AstroTone fuzz in every gear comments section and at every gig I ever get near. An absolutely amazing fuzz pedal for those of us who can't deal with most fuzzes.

The overdub "He has the box" is so much better than your OG old original, " He's has the clap" referencing your old drum synthesizer .

I opened for the Toadies in 2001 at a festival in Austin, TX. After a 45 min delay due to a rainstorm, they opened the show with "I Come From the Water". Great band, great musicians!
