What is Neoliberalism? is a video by the Barnard Center for Research on Women, featuring interviews with Lisa Duggan, Miranda Joseph, Sealing Cheng, Elizabeth Bernstein, Dean Spade, Sandra K. Soto, Teresa Gowan, and Ana Amuchástegui. In the video, contributors describe the various meanings that have been attributed to the term "neoliberalism," the neoliberal economic policies developed through the IMF and the World Bank, and the usefulness of "neoliberalism" as an organizing rubric for contemporary scholars and activists. Drawing from research on immigration policy, the prison-industrial complex, poverty management, and reproductive rights, they sketch some of neoliberalism's intersections with gender, sexuality, race, class, and nation. The speakers in this video have just taken an issue which all working people can agree is bad, the funneling of resources from the bottom to the top by legislative means, and made it partisan. Right wingers should hate neo-liberalism too. Its policies and ideas stop small business succeeding by strangling competition, and keeps people from being able to climb the ladder. It's a moving away from meritocracy to rewarding wealth. This video could've been so much better.

Nothing to do with sexuality I'm afraid this error added to the convoluted explanations I've been exposed to yet doesn't explain neoLiberal thought and economics. No mention of it's philosophical beginnings in 1870, no mention of Hayek, Meses, Friedman et al. This effort confuses the central issues.
