Extremely Strong, Small, and Easy Fishing Knot (called the Orvis Knot)
Показать описание
This video shows how to tie one of the best fishing knots out there... a very strong knot that is extremely easy to tie.
Its name is the "Orvis Knot". It's great for tying either hooks or lures to a mono or flourocarbon leader. I use it for line class ranges from 4 lbs all the way up to 80 lbs and have caught fish ranging from 2 inch pinfish to 150 lb tarpon with it.
As you'll see, it's a very simple knot and can be tied quickly so you can spend less time rigging and more time catching fish.
Overall, it is arguably better than the Palamar knot for flourocarbon leaders because it's tag end is facing down (weeds won't get stuck on it) and it's easier to tie (especially considering that the Palamar is a pain to tie when using a big lure given that it has to pass through the loop... no such issue with the Orvis knot).
Here are some quick directions on how to tie it:
1) Thread the line through the hook eye and give yourself 3 to 4 inches of tag end (hold tag end above the main line)
2) Take tag end behind main line and wrap around one time creating a simple loop in between the wrap and hook
3) From behind, thread the tag end through the look that was created from the wrap... now you should have two loops
4) Thread thread tag end through the 2nd loop you created from behind two times
5) Pull on the knot to get it smaller using a small amount of pressure.
6) Once small, wet line with either saliva or dip into water
7) Pull main line until knot pops into place
8) Trim tag end and get ready to catch a monster fish
