Honestly, the acting during Mulan's reaction to Shang's "death" is amazing. I remember watching the behind the scenes for this clip and how Mulan's voice actor, Ming-Na, was crying as she was voicing her. She really imerced herself in Mulan and put in as much emotion as the scene needed. Not to mention the great animation.

The movie may be subpar but not every aspect of it is bad.

Honestly this is the most historically accurate Chinese sequel ever. After an entire movies worth of development and a brief period of golden year shenanigans, everybody reverts to absolute horror and strife. Bravo.

Yeah... Y'all aren't missing much with this sequel. They really butcher the characters here, ESPECIALLY Mushu. THEY DIDN'T EVEN BRING BACK EDDIE MURPHY! SERIOUSLY, WTF?!?!

I still don't understand the logic behind this part, the rope was literally so much cut that it was just a thread, even if Shang sacrificed himself, could that broken rope seriously support the weight of a grown woman!? In reality they would have fallen before they could do all that unnecessary drama

I stand by the fact that this sequel is WAY better than people give it credit for, the animation is wonderful, the voice acting is superb and the songs are all bangers.

I cannot believe they went THIS HARD on a fake out death. Even after finishing the movie and knowing Shang isn’t dead, the raw emotion from Mulan is almost enough to make the “death” feel real every time I rewatch it.

In one of the deleted scenes, Mulan and Shang were on a top secret mission and had to escape after being caught with enemies on their tail, not to mention the part where Shang proposes during the scene.

Like....they....threw *that* away for *this* .


Disney...grow a pair of balls and bring back the dark side. I'm talking "Huns being buried, hunchback of notre dame, Kocoum and John Smith got shot, Mufasa falling to his death, etc." dark.

Yo, this movie was HOT garbage, basically every character became worst and backslid on their ideals, Mushu legit was out here trying to break up the marriage just to save his own hide.
