Have you ever heard of PaRdeS in Jewish hermeneutics? It's not a literal garden, but rather an acronym that represents four different approaches to interpreting the Torah. Let's break it down.

P stands for Peshat, which translates to the simple, literal meaning of the text. This is where we start our journey of interpretation.

R stands for Remez, which means hints or allegorical interpretation. It allows us to uncover deeper layers of meaning beyond the surface level.

D stands for Derash, which involves comparing and contrasting different texts to draw out new insights and understandings. It's like connecting the dots between different parts of the Torah.

Finally, S stands for Sod, which means secret or mystical interpretation. This is where we delve into the hidden meanings and spiritual teachings embedded within the text.

By using the PaRdeS method, we can unlock a treasure trove of wisdom and understanding from the Torah. It's like peeling back the layers of an onion to reveal its core essence.

So next time you study Jewish texts, remember to explore the depths of PaRdeS for a richer and more profound interpretation. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more enlightening content.

You mean I can't work backwards from my desired conclusion and through some wild linguistic and mental gymnastics see a dying and rising saviour man-god in the Hebrew Bible? :(
