Linear Algebra Done Right Book Review

I swear to god this book is so good and so fucking hard cuz we had to learn it at my data science major and it was literally the second based proof course since then I became another being I think I touched rock bottom and raised from the ashes with this book. I can confidently say this shit has to be read with SSRIs and ansiolitics cuz no sane human being can shove all the content even in two semesters. Wild book amazing presentation and insanely good proofs. 10/10 recommended but you might have to devote yourself to the abstract algebra gods and offer them 100% of your time worshipping them

Axler's book is pretty solid. Part of the motivation of the book is that many books take an approach of linear algebra based on determinants which Axler argues is unnecessarily convoluted. I agree that many linear algebra books use of determinants is convoluted but it seems to be a case in which the main issue is the lack of motivation on why the determinants turns out to be important. The determinant approach is quite elegant but many linear algebra books don't explain why using determinants is a smart way of studying linear transformations. The thing is that understanding the why may be a bit too much for someone who is learning the subject for the first time

The book is good, but I find all the colored boxes and letters very annoying. Also, there is nothing wrong with determinants, the issue is that most books fail to explain what they are.
