You'd be surprised at how much you can progress if you practice properly. I started sweep picking wrong, and for 5 months, I was struggling really bad, then I started practicing slowly, 5 bpm a day,
And got it down in 2 months. And you're right, you would focus on the sweeping movement, and the index finger on the left hand.

I agree with everything except for the part about not practising to a metronome

The hardest part for me isn't the muting or the actual picking part, it's the change on "grip" when sweeping 4 or more strings. Like your index finger is either above or below all the others and changing quickly (and accurately) from one to the other is where I get stuck . I lift my fingers way too much and my left hand just can't keep up with the right. Any tips on making the left hand movements more efficient?

But don’t the greatest and fastest typically say to slowly build up? Like what about the control aspect how do you gain that control when just forcing the speed so to speak? I’m not doubting you and I’ll try this but I just wanna know your opinion
