I learned CS4 by doing this for neighborhood kids mowing lawns and babysitting, etc. I can tell you i changed some kids lives substantially. Three girls paid for college for starters. I'm proud of it.

Do you approach the businesses with the redesign? Are they commissions and you just film them?

I would always just sell them the project file cheap and let them figure out whatever printing and websites they wanted, but always with a vector logo so they could do posters and stickers and whatever they wanted (the three girls eventually had a van with the logo on a huge vinyl sticker).

All I'm sayin is... If you're gonna do it just for fun, go find some shitty flyer from a kid trying to be an entrepreneur selling lemonade, washing windows, walking dogs, or maybe a local band or small business. Those project files are gold so if you just give it to them it can be a really big deal and i bet your viewers would like it.
