I have said for 5 months I would never buy a Kia or Hyundai to sell on my lot again. Well, I bought one of each. 1 is a big gamble.

Hyundai/Kia put the money where you can see it and skimp where you can’t see it. That’s a problem.

I own a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS that has 192, 000 miles.
I had 100, 000 miles when I got my engine replaced.
Took me 6 years fighting only to have them recall the replacement engine. 🙄 I was in an accident recently and the damages exceeded it's worth I was paid over $6000 for the POS less $1000 to keep the car (still drivable) at least till I can find another car.
Sometimes blessings come from misfortune. This was one of those times ☺️

Never had a problem with any of my KIAs. Regular maintenance keeps the 200k engine and transmission warranty active 👍. Always had the warranty recognized and never paid a dime. Don't scare people.

Mike is so transparent; he even reveals the price of the cars he purchased at auction.

We get a lot of Kia and Hyundais at our auction in Chattanooga that have a NEW FACTORY engine Not sure why. The Kia and Hyundai store is really right next door. I guess they get traded in blown The dealer replaces the engine. And send em straight to auction. I have bought a few with good results. Good luck man!

I ditched my 13 Sonata. At almost 110k, the engine started to make a metallic noise at 2-3k RPM. This is despite me putting in full synthetic oil and synthetic oil filters. And 60k miles back, there would be piston slap when cold oit. I got a new Santa fe with a brand new engine. So far so good.... for now. We will see... no oil consumption. The 2023 should be good with the brand new Theta III. The old sonata needed a quart at least every 3000mi.

Any Theta II engine I'd avoid. The "error in manufacturing process" can't be excused after they extended that out to 2014 MY.

As for kia/Hyundai engine issues if they're under recall you'll be able to make some good money on those vehicles. If done right the new owners will wind up with a lifetime warranty on the engine like I did on my 2014 Kia Optima LX.

Hyundai/KIA still make too many design/manufacturing mistakes for me to even consider buying one at this point. Also, not a fan of their usually-pretentious and/or odd styling.

Those carpets are bad news. It's unsafe. Look how bunched up it is at the drivers feet @5:15. Imagine what could happen over time. No wonder people complain of unintentional acceleration. They probably have a big ol piece of carpet pushing the gas pedal. I bought a used car that came with after market floor mats and I ditched them just for that reason.

This guy completely acts like a used car salesman. I wouldn’t trust him.

A car lot with no cars is like a grocery store with no food for sale inside.
Desperate times call for extreme measures

Mike, a word of warning from Australia is do not buy another kia or hyundai unless they are cheap, cheap, cheap ! None of them are reliable and will only hurt your business in the long run !

My daughter's car is back at Hyundai for its 5th time due to engine issues. Brand new block, rebuilt head (timing jumped because they reused old parts after the block was replaced under warranty), and still engine problems after all that.

learn "used car inspection" check the oil low oil or sludge, start it up make sure the cel comes on key on engine off, start the engine to check to see if the cel is on

Easy to understand how people make money buying junk from auctions. They duct tape and zip tie everything back together
