The casino business in Macau has a much longer history than that of Las Vegas. Macau legalized gambling in 1849 after centuries of it being a thing. Meanwhile, Las Vegas was founded in 1905. So the title should be called ''How the US built its own Macau... but smaller'' lol.

Maybe start adding series on the work of individual architects

A video about Zaha Hadid would be incredible! Her style and designs have always been captivating and unique. I remember when she passed away years ago, and I was honestly shaken by it.

The part that always marvels me is the engineers that create the equipment on hand and on or off site to allow the architects reach their plans. I'm just watching them bend heated steel to curve their alignment (10:42) and you know that piece of machinery is a one of one.

Zaha Hadid was truly one of a kind. She really left her mark for all that love architecture to enjoy. Wish I had met her in person

The Morpheus and the Leeza Soho are not only two of the best Zaha Hadid buildings, but probably two of my favorite buildings period. Fantastic.

Just for correct history, Stanley Ho didnt come to Macau with only 2 dollars in his pocket...he came from a prominent family so he had the family name and that helped him tremendously.

As someone who studied and loves urban design, your ability to go back to the very beginnings of socio, political and economic factors and how they affect a city while also comparing its relation to cities across the globe culturally is not only very impressive but very informative and easy to digest. Great video. Very organized, excellent graphically as well.

GOLD represents fortune and abundance in any culture, not just Chinese.

The Chinese thing is that it goes in a combination with red; this duo of colours are the most important there.

B1M and Macau!? My oh my! Awesome job!

Fun fact: the owner of the Morpheus hotel (part of a greater integrated resort City of Dreams) Lawrence Ho is the son of late Stanley Ho.

Stanley Ho opened a large casino-hotel called the Estoril in Tap Seac Square (named after Europe's biggest casino, in Portugal) several years before he opened the nearby Casino Lisboa. The Estoril was Macau's first modern casino-hotel, not the Lisboa. It closed in 1990.

The land where the Grand Lisboa stand was once a football field and the annual schools bazaar was held there too. Also just beside was a basketball court. I often play football there when I was younger.

@9:37: "Construction began on the Morpheus Hotel built by Ho's rivals " was built by Ho's own son Lawrence Ho

Macau 🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴 mentioned!! *B1M should cover* this fun fact - Due to Macau driving on left side and China driving on right side of the road, there's a unique bridge ( *Lótus Bridge* ) that you'd start driving up the bridge on one side then leave the bridge on another side, which is a very cool design! ALSO yeh Macau has its own flag even emoji 🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴 Somehow the flags in this video's footage are all perfectly blocked by the China flag...

Macau makes way more money than Vegas does. There's many Vegas based companies operating in Macau because of the huge profits they make.

Another stellar video from the B1M. And that exoskeleton building is absolutely striking!

Having visited a month ago for the Macau Grand Prix and having managed to not spend a single Pataca in a casino, can't wait to watch this!

Based on the title, I thought this was going to be about Kowloon Walled City. 😅
