What if Everyone Lived in Just One City?

What if everybody in the world, all 7.4 billion of us all lived together in the same city? How big or small would this city have to be and how close together or far apart would we all be living from each other? This video explores those concepts and visualizes what a massive global city would look like were it to ever exist in the real world.

Huge thanks to Ross Bugden for the excellent music, link below!

Hm, suddenly the world doesn't seem so crowded.

This can really put the Star Wars planet of Coruscant into perspective. It has a population density higher than Manhatten, and probably similar or higher to Manilla. And it covers the ENTIRE planet.

Singapore is densely populated but everything is so well organised and the government is actually good so they are better than most countries.

You should do an inverse to this, "what if all humanity was spread out evenly throughout the earth?"

Also if we all lived in the same city, plagues can wipe out the human race under maybe days.

I was expecting more of the lifestyle that people would be living, the healthcare, sewage/water supply, food production, income/jobs, what to do with dead people, etc. side of it.
now "how many people can fit in the smallest area possible" video.

Honestly the Manilla one sounds comfy. Weekend trip from "Little New England" to "Little Tokyo" by train? Hell yeah.

Okay, honestly I would probably love this. Especially if the whole rest of the world was a giant nature reserve! Constantly be within easy visiting distance of more friends and potential friends than you can imagine, see people all the time every day, and go on some kickass camping trips with thousands of miles of wilderness all to yourself when you get sick of it. =D
