This is a great video short! My feelings exactly! I actually rented somewhere that had a property association that said you could not hang laundry on your line...or advertise for a garage sale !

Plenty of reasonable HOAs out there and can be beneficial if you have neighbors/live in a neighborhood. Ideally you can have a large piece of property outside the city limits with no HOA or neighbors.

Subdivisions and HOAs are all about convenience and shared amenities. It takes more time, work and effort to be responsible for your own utilities, site amenities and upkeep. Most folks are perfectly willing to sacrifice some personal liberty for convenience these days. A few are not, so that’s why they live outside of as many incorporated subdivisions and municipalities as possible. Nice brush pile burn there!

You live in a HOA, IF you can’t afford to pay for your view. Me personally I have a lower income house in Austin Texas, and I’m grateful for my HOA, because my neighbors are trashy, and without it, god only knows the type of shit I’d have to look at every day.

If you could buy the view stick with no HOA, if you can’t I’ll take my HOA.
