After a few minutes, everyone acts like Amy's " Imaginary friend " appearing at the wedding reception is just an everyday occurrence. ;)

ok, earlier in this episode the doctor told amy the story of the box while she dreampt of it. the tardis is both old and new because its been with the doctor for many years but is new to his "companions" its "borrowed" from gallifrey (stolen) and its blue. I find this funny because at traditional weddings your supposed to have those things!

man the statement just fits too perfectly. something old & new are both covered by time travel itself flat out, something borrowed could be the dr's body itself considering regeneration, and of course, something blue .. do i even have to say it?

The TARDIS is both *old* and *new* (it is a time machine, after all), the Doctor *borrowed* it from the repair shop, and it’s obviously *blue* in its current chameleon state

@spadehatesscrewtube Actually all of these are referring to the Tardis. The doctor borrowed (stole) it. It is blue. The doctor even describes the Tardis is both old and new earlier in the season (possibly earlier that episode).

Yes. It was in a book he wrote. I believe it was Brisingr, I could be wrong. He wrote the elven woman and Eragon out in the middle of the plains somewhere, and she draws the verse into the ground. He also revealed he's a Dr Who Fan in I believe the author's note or something of the same book. I will need to check the book again to be sure though.

It's actually also ties in with the wedding that riddle rhyme is traditionally good luck fir brides so it's that and about the time and relative dimension in space.

Yes, I too remember reading it in Eragon, and at the end of the book like King said, he admits he's a fan of Doctor Who.

i get chills every time i watch this scene -- same with when the Doctor flies the Pandorica out then sends a message to River's communicator, Amy asks what does it say? and it's a single word -- GERONIMO

(then the I Am The Doctor theme starts up too which is glorious

Something old = the TARDIS is a type 40, an old version of time lord TARDIS's. Many newer versions were created. ALSO the TARDIS is an old (the oldest) companion of the doctor. It is also literally very old.
Something new = though it is an old versions, to humans, TARDIS's are very new and advanced technology.

@jnamon83 you're right! i totally forgot that way back when, the doctor was fleeing galifrey and "commandeered" a tardis. man, i really need to rewatch, like, the entire series again. correct again, because the internal dimension always seems to be changing and updating, while the classic "bobby stop" box exterior remains the same (or at least similar)
