thats not the "No" you scream for the loss of a loved one, that's the "No" you scream for when you lose a Bet

My friend and I paid to see this when it was out in theaters. And we watched this scene and walked out in really bad moods.

from Wikipedia (Gage Creed):
_"The original inspiration for the character(Gage) was King's own son, Owen, who, as a toddler, had been stopped from running into the road while flying a kite. The King family was then staying in a spooky house in Orrington, Maine – a place which had a real pet cemetery.[3]"_

The story turned out better for Stephen King. He is a master at capturing a moment in time, including all the emotions that go with it. Also, notice how Gage was flying a kite.

When Gage came back he sure looked pretty good from being smacked by a semi. There would be nothing left of the little guy.

I saw this movie years ago, possibly close to when it was first released. I may not be remembering the film correctly, however, to my recollection, this scene was one that elicited an "Oh!" from me, and it was because of the way this scene - which I believe has been edited out - was filmed so convincingly. How it was actually done was with a mannequin or animated mechanical version of the character, Gage, given my limited knowledge of special effects possible in 1989. Gage - that is, his character's special effects version for the filming - was actually in the road, then was hit by whatever vehicle they used to film the scene in the movie. It was both an impressive and terrifying piece of film. I've never seen it again in any version of the 1989 film, or any outtake. And, perhaps I'm incorrect and not recalling the scene correctly. The difference is akin to the edit in the film "Cujo" when, at the end, the mom (Elliot's mom in "E.T.") looks at Cujo in the car and says: "Fuck you, dog." That was changed to: "Damn you, dog.", though I don't know if the scene was re-filmed with the new wording or not.

I have a 6 yr old with autism, I shadow him out in our backyard like a HAWK and stay no more than 10 feet away from him everywhere he steps. About 300 feet behind us is a busy truck route, makes me think of this shocking scene all the time. Time to build that fence this summer.

Obviously this bit isn't right.Poor Gage at the end was so sad as his Dad saw him as his lovely little baby again. This film scared the life of me. The mother's late sister was very frightening. She was really really scary and creepy. Its up there with Nightmare on Elm Street which scared the life out of me too.

@1:11 The 2019 could not imitate this iconic scream. That came deep within that Man's soul. Best scene in my opinion.

Much, much more effective and well done than the remake.

In the book Gage was horribly disfigured. All of his bones were broken and his head was too (nearly decapitated) The book is very gory in regards to details about his death. I wonder if the remake will encapsulate the grim fate of Gage.

You know if Gage's mother was seriously concerned about her child you think she would start running to catch up to gage, but she didn't.
