How to Rewire Your Brain to Stop Panic and Anxiety Symptoms

➡️ Get access to the FREE Anxiety Recovery Guide:

Your brain’s main goal is to keep you safe, but sometimes it becomes overprotective, treating minor discomforts as major threats. This overreaction leads to heightened anxiety, physical symptoms, and feelings of frustration. Yet, your brain isn’t your enemy – it’s simply confused.

Think of your mind as a puppy that needs patient teaching, not punishment. Yelling doesn’t help; it only amplifies the chaos. Instead, guide it with compassion and calm persistence. When you feel a symptom, resist the urge to label it dramatically. Instead of “chronic dizziness,” say, “I’m feeling a little dizzy right now.” Neutral words and steady actions show your brain there’s no threat.

Recovery requires consistency. The way you live your life communicates more to your brain than words ever could. By continuing to engage in everyday activities – even with anxiety present – you send the message that it’s safe to relax. Over time, your nervous system recalibrates, and the fight-or-flight mode fades.

In this episode, I talk about how to train your brain to stop treating life as a series of emergencies. Tune in to learn how small, compassionate shifts in thinking and behavior can create a lasting calm.

Let’s get started!

Key Takeaways:

Intro (00:00)
Anxiety’s physical symptoms mimic health issues (01:20)
The brain is a misguided ally, not an enemy (03:37)
Treat your brain like a learning puppy – guide it gently (06:16)
Using neutral language to describe symptoms (08:02)
Signs of progress (09:23)

Gotta have patience with it like he’ sajd. Be gentle to it. Assertive but gentle and loving. And expose yourself to those “ scary”things and situations.. Slowly but surely. And remember that God has a plan and doesn’t wanna hurt you. And that you are never alone. Ever. Keep fighting guys. This is our year of letting go and of deep healing🙏

I’m glad I caught you when I did, I’m 18 and had my first panic attack about a month ago. It was so bad I passed out and convulsed for a second or two and ever since I haven’t felt right, but since I found you I’m getting better. I don’t want to have this for years to come, it’s too early. Thanks man.

After 40 years of living with anxiety, endless drs visits I don’t need a dr telling me I’m ok anymore - I know that if a week passes with the same symptom it’s my anxiety. However I have never made peace with it and pushed through and let my symptoms just come with me. Gonna try this now!

Hi Shaan, I am completely limited, bedbound for 3 years. Can't leave my bed, communicating with people almost impossible. Everything you say makes so much sense. I just do not know, how to teach my brain by living my life. It feels like a trap.

For me, the hardest part during episodes of anxiety is the intense fear I feel, but especially the thought that I will never get out of it... That is the most difficult part. How can I overcome this thought?

Sir you are doing an amazing job... I was so terrified, I am a bright student, but it's been months that I couldn't focus and in my previous exams my condition was worst, I was thinking I'm going to die, so what's the point of studying and at the same time I was pushing myself, that how can I not get position in this even now in vacations I couldn't do daily tasks and often thought about dying....And I've been through doctors they just say don't worry, may be it's just anemia, due to low hb, your body is lacking oxygen and stuff but my parents and nobody understands, that no even they are cheering me in some ways, it won't help, when I didn't even knew what's wrong with me... Then I came across ur vedios and thank you so much, you are doing great job....Lots of prayers

Thank you for all your hard work and help! 😊 Happy New Year!!! 💫💥🥳
I have a question. How do you focus on your work when the anxiety symptoms don't allow you to? And sometimes ignoring it and forcing through just makes it worse. Any suggestions?

Hi ❤ Could you talk about stressing about sleep? Have not slept well in half a year, have antihistamins as sleeping Aid and experience derealization ❤️ How do I start creating a better cycle?
