I would love to see TFL do the Ike Gauntlet using a 10, 000lb load with 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton gas trucks so you can compare.

First of all I love you guys. I watch your channel because it does help me better understand the trucks and their capabilities before I buy. Now with all that said it's time for your show to start setting up these trucks with the same off road tires with like speaks so we can see who is best on road, mud, sand, rocks, gas mileage, tow and snow. I believe the only changes you would need to make are tires, close gearing and ride height. If you put ten to fifteen videos together showing these trucks in sand, mud, road, towing, rocks, milage and snow views like myself will be glued to your videos and most likely they will become most viewed... Thanks for reading and good luck guys... The Banks Family

I’d like to see how much they love the FCA product in 5 years. The problem with any of these reviews is the fact they don’t look long term. If you spend 80+K on a truck you’re gonna keep it for at least 10 years or your going to get robbed leasing it. If that’s the case get robbed and get whatever makes you feel good.

That being said I don’t know any 10 year old diesel pickup that hasn’t seen the dealership several times for repairs costing big $$$ out of warranty. I’d like to see a real world test of the big 3 with 10, 15 and 20 year old trucks. This would be a real testament to the build quality and reliability of the brands. I like old junk because I can work on it and it cost pennies on the dollar to keep ruining compared to being robbed with something new that the manufacturers don’t want me working on. Do the Motörhead version of the best long lasting trucks for crazies like me. Thanks, guys.

With the ecoboost and other turbo gas engines, I'd be interested to see if you could go slower up the Ike but get a better MPG. It's great to see how fast it is but let's see how efficient it can be. There are some of us who don't drive as fast as possible and do care about how efficient it can be!

I'd split off 3/4 ton truck into two categories: Gas & Diesel.

You don't really need a brake controller on the midsized trucks. They tow about as much as the early 2000s 1/2 tons. They didn't have brake controllers, either. If you are maxing out the towing capacity, you will need a brake controller, but it is not wise to max out the vehicle on a regular basis. If you need to tow that much, move up a class in cars. I actually like the gladiator approach. Offer it as an accessory, but don't build it into the dash.

The EcoBoost broke your test. Awesome. I've had many of these since 2011. They are great

Suggestion for the 1/2 ton class. Start pulling a camper. It is more dynamic than the trailers you are towing now, and will change the way you feel each truck when you test it. Nothing like pulling a big wall against the wind.

Too bad here in Europe we can't get some heavy duty trucks. For alot of Farmers and Constructors, would be handy for towing heavy trailers and machinery. The only thing similar it's some cabover trucks like the Mitsubishi Fuso or Toyota Dyna. Besides the usual pick ups.

You should come to BC Canada to do some testing on the Coquihalla Hiway. Something different and 8% grades with all sorts of weather conditions. Just a suggestion for when Covid has subsided a little more and borders are open again.

Manually downshifting was mentioned twice by Kent. Yes, I agree. Manual downshifting is old school whether automatic or manual trans. Is there too much emphasis put on brake applications downhill with these Ike tests?

If I were buying today my choices out of the list would be the Diesel Colorodo/Canyon that truck impressed me in your videos especially with 1 brake application. For the big boys that Ram 3500 with 0 Brake applications is my choice there. For half ton its a really tough choice they all had the same brake applications pretty much so at the moment I cant decide between the GM 6.2 the Ford and the Ram Hemi. I do like the sounds of a V8 so for that purpose maybe I would lean towards GM or Ram but yeah it is a tough choice. I wouldn't tow more than 10k and all 3 max tow over that so tow rating isn't an issue with those 1500s either.

I am shocked GM could be ending production of the 2.8L diesel - that engine is their greatest competitive advantage in the mid-size platform
