Adaptogens are herbs, plants, and mushrooms that can have a number or health benefits - but have a HUGE impact on regulating our nervous systems

The state of our nervous system (aka the body’s command center) can influence our entire cycles, so doing things to regulate ourselves and align with a “rest and digest” state is really important for symptomless cycles 🩸

I don’t think of adaptogens as supplements, but more-so incredibly powerful foods!
⚡️Adaptogens work by supporting the body’s ability to handle various sources of stress. Stressors can be physical, emotional, or environmental and adaptogens work by balancing and regulating various physiological processes, including the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, which is responsible for the body’s stress response.

Adaptogens have been shown to help increase performance due to fatigue as well as support nervous system regulation ⬇️

Some of my favorite adaptogens include:
🌿 Ashwagandha - has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and enhance cognitive function
🌿 Rhodiola - known for its ability to improve physical endurance, reduce fatigue, improve mood, and improve cognitive function
🌿 Ginseng - has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and have immune-boosting properties.
🌿 Holy basil - has been shown to reduce stress, improve cognitive function, and have antioxidant properties
🌿 Lion’s Mane - known for improving cognitive function, boosting focus, and reducing inflammation
