Got Super Lucky yesterday, had a deposit on a Tacoma, went in to have trade Appraised, and the people who had a TRD Pro 4Runner reserved decided to go another direction, so I shall have mine in 10-12 days. Super happy, super excited. Thank you for your videos, lots of professional insight. Keep up the good work.

David, thanks for sharing your buying strategy for 4Runner and GX…I had similar thoughts. With new frames, chassis designs, engines and improved MPGs for 2024 it gave me pause, but in the case of both vehicles…one never really wants to buy first year production so waiting till 2025 is a long wait. In the case of the GX, have to believe the V8 and dependability of a 2022/3 (12-13 years of tweaking) will help remain value so should one consider selling there hopefully should be significant retained value. And, apart from MPG issue, one might even end up preferring the 2022/3…so buying now makes sense.

Just the 4 cylinder alone will make me want to buy the current generation 4Runner.

Excellent thoughts! I am currently in the process of doing this for the new Tacoma TRD Pro!

Just picked up my new 2024 in Ice-Cap TRD-ORP with KDSS earlier this week. I'm loving it!

I just picked up a ‘23 4Runner. I really wanted something that has proven reliability and longevity and the current design may not be new but I love the look of them.

Thank you for all your advice on the 4runner. I put myself on the wait list for a 5th generation.

David, 'great upfront advice'! Buy the current model, you know what you're getting--Toyota's made in Japan 'tried & true' 4x4 legend. Newer doesn't always mean better. Newer means a higher purchase price for an unproven 'Toyota experiment'. Buy the current dependable V6 4x4 icon.

Good advice. I been thinking of the 5th Gen vs 6th Gen for a year now.

I bought a 2022 TRD ORP 4Runner and perfectly pleased that I have it. I'm at the age that reliability and function is much more important to me than the latest designs. I don't want any turbo charged 4 cyl engines and some new high speed transmission. I'm good with the 4.0 and 5-Speed.

David, excellent strategy for potential purchasers. My last 2 4Runners were purchased from a Toyota dealer that was a personal friend. I ordered them to my specs and it took nearly 6 months to receive...so I am used to the time frame in getting what I wanted. My current 4Runner is a 2020 TRD Off Road, so I shall hold on until I am to see and drive as you suggested, The 2 models on my list would be the new 4runner with hybrid drive train or the new Lexus GX which will probably have V6. Thank you for keeping us informed on the wonderful world of Toyotas,

The rear window has never been a problem for me, I drive around with the rear window halfway down with no problems with exhaust fumes

Great information. I am buying a 2019 TRD Off-Road Premium. Low miles and only one owner.
Thanks for all your hard work putting this together for us.

Ty David I really appreciate your videos. I’ve always wanted a 4Runner and this video and your “10 Reasons to buy a 4Runner” pushed me to act now. I wanted the naturally aspirated 6 cylinder not the turbo 4, I got a great trade in price on my Xterra so I jumped

I found a 1 year old 4Runner Venture in pristine like new condition with 4700 miles. The previous owner put a leveling lift on it, better tires, a full ceramic tint, a TRD Pro grill, 4 Raptor lights, a DFi windshield, and a 24 month hand applied graphene ceramic finish protection and then basically never drove it. It was a garage queen. No dirt anywhere on it or in it. Still smelled like it rolled off the transport. You're damn right I bought it.
