You guys should do a cross country road trip series where you incorporate real world stops (fuel vs charging) and see how much more or less time it takes using an EV compared to a hybrid. Would be interesting to see the comparison

Try this test with the most economical EV out there (Tesla model 3?) vs the most economical hybrid. Prius plug in Hybrid.

I'm more impressed that you cleaned up the nuggets.

Geez the Cyber truck rollup cover not fully closing says it all. That Land Cruiser looks great.

Diesel is not $2.95 dollars like the last video…. It’s more like 3.85. And charging at a supercharger can be 75 cents a kWh… at home is 10 cents.

Are you going to do a local driving comparison with home charging?

Cybertrick is $4 cheaper but the cost of looking like a dork driving and waiting an hour. Priceless

We bought my wife a model y ealier this year. She loves it. Its a fun car. We have yet to use a super charger. 100% home charging. We pay 6.6 cents per kwh. Its super cheap to drive.

I’m so glad I went with my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid. I am genuinely shocked at how great the mileage is. Avg between October and now is 6L/100km, my avg on my last tank was 4.6L/100km. I towed my 2, 000lbs camper and Avg 9.6L/100km. I do cheat the system and force the truck to go electric

A fridge with wheels for $101k falling apart in 3 months, bed latch cant close straight and end is falling out vs a Land Cruiser for $65k, i can buy 300k miles of gasoline and still have money left.

It's fair to note that not everyone could charge at home. 35% of households live in rentals. So, using a charger on the road for cost is fair.

The entirely electric (Cybertruck) vs gas (Land Cruiser). The Cybertruck is of course much bigger - but it is still an interesting comparison.
Let us make comparison for 100 miles of local driving. For this you need 36 kWh in the Cybertruck and 4 gallons of gas for the Land Cruiser.
Most of the time owning an EV you will charge it at home for daily use. That gives you zero waiting time and a much lower price per kWh (In Colorado average is 15 cents and off peak is less than 8 cents).

Cybertruck costs: 36 kwH * 7, 5 cents (off peak) = USD 2, 70
Land Cruiser costs: 4 gallons * USD 3, 29 = USD 13, 16

I have a garage and shop full of cars, diesel pickups, side by sides, and dirt bikes. It's so nice to have that one vehicle that never needs any maintenance (except tires and washer fluid), my model y. I even have a little off grid set up for making my own fuel at home that covers all my driving needs. That being said, I've taken a bit of a different approach to the whole EV vs internal combustion thing: I mostly drive EV and prefer the driving experience and fuel costs, but since I still burn plenty of fuel and so do most others, I have remained heavily invested in oil companies over the years and enjoy those beautiful quarterly dividends. So even though I prefer to drive EV, I still get paid a little any time someone goes to the pump :)

I like the hybrid so you can get energy any where and you fill up in 5 minutes

Okay but at 80k for the Toyota and 100k for the Tesla you have 20k of fuel to use before the Fridge is cheaper.

Anyone who owns a Tesla knows to not bother Supercharging until you’re actually low on charge. In fact, the Tesla app automatically calculates this when on a long, multi stop trip. This means that you’re typically only stopping for 10-15 minutes tops.

Also, as one who normally drives their car around town, I just plug my car in at night and I have a full charge each morning.

Lastly, it costs me only about $35 per month to drive 1500 miles which is much cheaper than gasoline.

Small cost differences doesn't change the fact that most people seem to despise EVs. Hybrids are the answer for the foreseeable future.
