If you're still wondering whether it's worth it financially to get an electric vehicle, a new study out of B.C. may have an answer. After considering a number of factors, researchers at UBC found out how much you would have to drive to make an EV cost the same as a gas-powered vehicle and that it's best to buy smaller, less expensive EVs.

LIES! End of the road will be for Trudeau, not the gas car

He doesn’t tell you that EVs are more expensive to repair, more expensive to insure and do much more damage to roads because they are 40% heavier than gas powered vehicles. And once most people have one, charging prices will increase and they will be road taxes to pay for road repairs.

Just wait until you have to replace that $20, 000 battery.

The road will end for Trudeau long before the road for gas vehicles will.

This country is doomed. Either by bad math or sheer stupidity.

They generate savings, and then the battery takes a crap, Tesla won’t fix it for a reasonable cost and you get to be a consumer all over again.

Batteries in Chinese electric cars come from the Xinjiang region, where they are produced by:
- coal-fired plants and
- Uyghur forced labor in their production.

Our power grid won't handle it by 2035

As soon as you add a battery replacement, all your savings are gone. You can easily take gas/diesel engines to 500, 000km+ without replacing the engine or even rebuilding it. Hybrids should be the focus. They solve all the problems of EVs while keeping the best parts.

False ! The cost of one is already to high, if they were consumer friendly they would have solar panels built into them ! But they want to control so once they become to many it will be who can have one, which opens up Schwabs vision again

How many Electrical grids can handle an extra 50 amps per household to charge an EV? answer: Nowhere near enough for this to be a serious conversation

so it costs to buy an EV car, 5 years down the line it takes to buy a new battery. not to mention they don’t run good in the winter. Hydro is very scared for the EV cars being implemented due to houses upgrading they’re electrical panels to accommodate for the draw and the power lines now need to be updated to accommodate for the draw from every household. it’s a very unrealistic view of our technology in the electrical field. As an electrician myself it’s not plausible, period.

Ya I'll see you in 2035 while I'm still driving my gas powered car! I wish it was possible to switch but it will not happen in our lifetime!

EV technology is already getting dated. It's not very practical for too many people. Hydrogen is the future.

It's more expensive, especially when you get a 20k bill to replace batteries.

I guess they just ignore the $50, 000 battery replacement at 100, 000km. Unfortunately, EV’s are disposal vehicles.

Canada has a relatively small population - massive forests and lakes - carbon tax and EV mandates are senseless - they will be scraped as soon as Trudeau is scraped.
