If you think about it, Moses was the first and only water-bender, too.

I can agree that Jesus is queer, but from a very young age, I assumed that he is asexual and/or aromantic instead of gay or bi. I mean, he never married. Even though he was born a human, he is the Son of God, and supernatural beings are not bound by human conventions of attraction, sexuality and gender. And it would make more sense to me that he seeks only close platonic relationships with other people during his time on Earth.

I really don’t think Jesus ever had any romantic relationship, he loves all people equally…

Sorry but this was a bad take. The first mistake was you suggesting Jesus and Paul had a homosexual relationship even though Paul had never once met Jesus of Nazareth. Most likely met a few of his disciples and may have known his brother, but he never met Jesus in person physically, that was your first mistake. Secondly, you’re making the fallacy of him being a beloved disciple as him being in a romantic/sexual relationship. Beloved disciple could mean that he was the closest and who tried so hard to not only imitate Christ, but to obey his teachings and to listen to everything he had to say, because he had faith in him. Secondly, you’re using European modern paintings of Jesus to describe his supposed relationship with John? The reason why John would have been called a beloved disciple of Jesus, in context, would be a literary construct for modesty and polite reserve. Here’s another things, In the Bible, there were three sisters with the same name, Mary. Do you know them? One of them was Mary, the mother of Jesus (Acts 1:14, ESV). The second was Mary, James, and Joseph’s mother (Matthew 27:56, ESV). Finally, the third one was Mary Salome, James and John’s mother (Mark 15:40, ESV).
As such, Jesus and John the Beloved could have been cousins. Most importantly though, you’re forgetting the context of love that was In Greek, which was the language the gospels were written. We all know that the Greek had different words when describing love, agápē, érōs, philía, philautía, storgē, and xenía. The word “love” that Jesus uses to refer to John in John 13:23 is “agápē.” That word for love in Greek is meant to express kind of love that is felt by a person willing to do anything for another, including sacrificing themselves, without expecting anything in return. Its selfless love, It’s an empathetic, universal love, also means brotherly love, charity, and that word is often used to signify the fatherly love of God for humans, as well as the human reciprocal love for God.

EDIT: wow it’s been years since I’ve seen this comment. I used the wrong fallacy term, it’s not circular reasoning, it’s non sequitur, thank you to one of the comments that helped correct me.

A.D. actually stands for "anno Domini" which means "the year of the Lord" in latin

Just imagine that one homophobic christian meeting Jesus and he be like: I'm gay
They just be having an existential crisis for the rest of their afterlife xD

Edit: So it has been a year and there is some stuff I wanna say.
1. Verses out of the falsely translated Bible have no meaning to me.
2. If you have read the Bible you would know that the authors contradict each other in some points. Which means Bible verses have no meaning to me.

Lastly, it doesn't matter if he was gay or not. The only thing that mattered is what he taught us which is "love thy neighbor" and "may the one who hasn't sinned throw the first stone". Treat people with respect regardless of their nationality, gender, race or sexuality! Jesus saved that women even though she sinned by sleeping with another man. He saved her from being stoned to death by these people for simply saying a phrase. Do not point at others. Do not call them sinners. Do not do that if you are a sinner yourself.
Jesus was kind. Even to the people who betrayed him. We always say that he died for us yet we are the ones who killed him. And he forgave us. Yet what is his forgiveness really worth if we don't better ourselves. If we don't change our ways. I don't think Jesus would have supported people killing in his name. Burning people alive, drowning them, torturing them for being "a witch". Do you even know what your beloved church has done? I don't think he would agree with priests molesting innocent children and nuns! You people are sick for thinking you are the ones to speak! To tell people they are going to hell whilst you are supportive of an organization that has betrayed the one and only god they admire so deeply! There is a reason he has left us to rot on this gift he gave us called our dear planet earth that we so love to destroy! Face the truth people! We as humanity are more of a sinner than all gay people combined! And honestly... don't you have anything better to do than spread hatred among this god forsaken world?

I don't think Jesus had a sexuality then since his only purpose was to die on the cross to wash away our sins. From as far as I have read the Bible, I have never see any signs that Jesus had showed romantic attractions to anyone. If Jesus did, I'm pretty sure He wouldn't refer them as 'my child'.

Paul didn’t become a Christian until after Jesus’ death. Before that, he was involved in arresting and prosecuting them. The odds of him having any kind of direct interaction with Jesus are slim indeed.

Dude ...

1. AD means Anno Domini, In the Year of Our Lord

2. Paul did not associate with Jesus, he persecuted him

3. Pais does NOT come FROM pederasty. It's the other way around: the root of pederasty is pais + erastēs = boy + love

4. It is not uncommon for men in the Middle East to openly express physical affection toward each other, like holding hands, walking arm in arm, and resting one's head on a friend's lap or chest or shoulder. This is very common in much of the world and it is not indicative of being gay. I am a gay man myself and this is not a homophobic comment. It's just a fact. I lived in the Middle East for 5 years and saw this all the time. You cannot conflate Western gay male behavior with everyday Middle Eastern straight or gay male behavior.

I guess we're all allowed to have our opinions. That he wasn't, that he was. Just keep in mind we cannot know for sure so nobody wins anyways. As long as your opinions and actions don't harm anybody, of course. Regardless of evidence, if he chooses to believe he was queer, valid. Regardless of evidence, if people choose to believe he wasn't, valid.
Just love each other guys 🌈

"AD" does not stand for "after death." It's "Anno Domini, " Latin for "the year of the Lord." Not sure what the facts about Jesus not being "white" and not born on Christmas (old news) have to do with your theory of Jesus' sexuality, but it is certainly not necessary to define him as gay to know that he loved everyone.

Jesus is definitely not gay.

He is a PANSEXUAL ICON

You gotta be honest man. How he gonna say “love everyone” and just be gay or straight? Nah my man slept around EVERYWHERE.

...What?! Lmao

As juicy of a take as this is, it is about as trivial as an atheist and a theist arguing about whether or not the Flying Spaghetti Monster is Italian because they want to figure out if it's morally correct to be carbophobic.

What you are doing is not helping. Please don't spread this misinformation. Please get a better understanding of religions before you spread information like this. I highly doubt you talked to a Christian when you made this script so please do next time. It's not a "but still... he might have been gay with His disciples" when, if He was gay, it would make Him a pedophile as His disciples were very young. Being gay was condemned in Judaism as well as the early church because it played a significant role in hierarchies like you mentioned in this video. It also made women even more oppressed. As a result I doubt Jesus would've been in a gay relationship if he was in a romantic relationship at all. I'm pretty sure Jesus was not in a romantic relationship because High Priests are required to get married. Jesus pledges to marry the church as a whole and has gone to prepare a place for us (mirroring the traditions of Judaism). While of course He's not literally marrying the church He uses this requirement as the High Priest to draw a parallel.

As much as I like to watch your videos Matt, there is no proof that he was anything. Your theology is very lacking.

Just because being gay is not a sin, in no way proves that he was gay, Anno Domini was coined in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus. There is no "0" year the numbering would have changed from b.c. to a.d. back to back.

There is no proof of that Matt, First off, Paul was called Saul originally, he was a Pharisee, and he originally went around killing Christians, He was from Tarsus. How would a man who was busy killing off early Christians even be involved with the "founder" of that religion, that makes no sense.

Vice is biased as a channel and a website, it is inappropriate to cite them as a source.

First off you are saying the word Pais wrong, it's pronounced pice, second the meaning is :

παῖς paîs, paheece; perhaps from G3817; a boy (as often beaten with impunity), or (by analogy), a girl, and (genitive case) a child; specially, a slave or servant (especially a minister to a king; and by eminence to God):—child, maid(-en), (man) servant, son, young man.

Check all references, not just the ones that fit what you are saying, if you do, you are no better than the narrow minded people that you speak out against.

Pederasty derives from the combination of παίδ- ([pédh] the Greek stem for boy[1] or child)[2] with ἐραστής ([érastís] Greek for lover; cf. eros). Late Latin pæderasta was borrowed in the 16th century directly from Plato's classical Greek in The Symposium. (Latin transliterates αί as æ.) The word first appeared in the English language during the Renaissance, as pæderastie

Pais and pederasty are not synonymous with each other.

As for chuches, you should know IF you have done your research properly, that there are churches around where Gay Christians like myself can go. Secondly secular historians are being shown repeatedly that their "history" which is controlled mostly by ultra conservatives as being wrong.

I will say it again, If you are not using all sources, all research on words and their meaning, proper context in scriptures, then you are no better than those people who say things in that manner, You have to be a better person.

I'm part of LGBTQ+ but just because being part of lgbtq+ is not sin, doesn't mean Jesus is gay or bi, as for others reading this, before you call me rude, read bible, and don't let this stupidity happened again

The dislikes are most likely from homophobic people who watched this video and probably didn't get through the entire thing.
