Strange times indeed when Mazda launches new inline sixes whilst every other manufacturer goes the other way. Good on them .

One thing i love about you is that you have a laugh and smile even though testing these cars would probably be a 'routine' job for you. YOu always have a laugh when going fast in reverse. It makes watching this channel really enjoyable and easy to take in.
The layout you use each episode to test your cars is supreme! Best out of all the car channels by a country mile! :)

I'm in love with the CX 50 ❤
The ride height ground clearance and all that 😊

The diesel engine alone sells it for me. It's amazing. I test drove it. So awesome! It's significantly cheaper than an equivalent GLC and X3 and even then, the GLC and X3 use rough 2 litre 4 cylinder diesels unlike the Mazda's refined and smooth i6 diesel. Great car.

Having owned a few older (mid-2010s) Mazdas they definitely have the luxury feel and good aesthetics, even at the base models. The step up is great for those wanting some extra luxuries but worried about the maintenance of their vehicles, aside from maybe Lexus owners.

Great upmarket look from Mazda. I think they nailed the design both interior and exterior. The only design element I think they missed is the rear wiper design; they should have hidden it under the rear spoiler above the rear glass. Love the technology, the luxury feel, fit and finish. Home run Mazda.

I own the CX5 and its a brilliant car. Arguably the best in its class. I'm waiting for the CX60 to come to our market. I will probably trade in the cx5 and get the cx60.

Owner of diesel GT version 1 week+ and totally in love with it.
Diesel definitely better than petrol.
Agree with Paul regarding I-stop function, can be annoying at times. Otherwise no issues at all.
8.5/10 for me.

Your reviews are great Paul, very comprehensive. One area you miss though is cruise control accuracy over rolling terrain. My CX5 has a variation of +/-10 Kph over hilly areas, over-speeding on the crest of hills and dramatic slowing at the bottom of hills; it is so annoying. My previous car was a Renault that maintained an accuracy of +/-2 Kph over the same terrain.

I’m 3 weeks into owning mine, the stop start 20-40 thing is painful, so I turn it off just wish they’d let it stay off. If you use your indicators and it won’t drag you back into your lane and the driver aids are not even close to as invasive as the RAV 4s. For those questioning the price, I suggest you price up a Kia or Hyundai SUV to decent spec.

Those are questioning on Mazda’s decision on inline 6 instead v6 - Actually Benz and BMW are also moving to inline 6 instead of V6, because with new manufacturing technology, smaller but powerful cylinder bores can be manufactured. Therefore Inline 6 are more stable, powerful and efficient than V6 engines.

You can’t judge fuel economy on a testing track. It’s not normal driving. All that hard acceleration etc.
I’ve had 2 Mazda diesels. ( a 6 and a cx5). They were amazing. I’ve ordered a cx60 and it arrives next week. I can’t wait.

Great review Paul. As someone with back issues the amount of cars that are overly firm these days is just crazy especially in cars such as these that are meant for family duties on our third world roads....
