Say hello to DriveTribe's new project car! It is a car you may recognise from The Grand Tour, as it was the only car that Clarkson, Hammond and May all agreed they like. Guessed yet? Well, Mike has bought one, and we want you to decide what we do with it!

James May: 'Restore it to its former glory'.
Richard Hammond: 'Lightly modify it'.
Jeremy Clarkson: 'Heavily modify it, go mental'.

Sony radio: turn off demo mode. That feature is intended to be used on stores to catch the attention of the buyer. Also, depending on the model you can change the display color to try to match the one on the dash. Give it a shot.

Can't want to see this car on its former glory (that was my vote on the Drivetribe page. Go vote!)

"Mondeo's in the UK are known for rust."

Canadians: "You merely adopted the rust, I was born to it, molded by it. I didn't have a wholly intact car until I was a man."

My friend had one of these and I used to be quite jealous of him.

Option 4. Buy a decent one for £4K and go coat shopping with the 2 years you saved restoring that pile.

When I was growing up my Dad had an ST24, then and ST200 and finally an ST220.

All great cars!

Clicks expecting Clarkson, Hammond & May to argue why they all like this. **gets politely well spoken man instead**

You forget the mighty Avantime, already a classic, the 'Coupéspace'

We got these in the US as the Ford Contour SVT (sedan only); they were well reviewed at the time and I've always had a slight soft spot. Background about the Duratec V6 motor: it was initially a joint project between Porsche and Cosworth; Porsche designed the block and Cosworth designed the heads. Porsche lost interest in the project and Cosworth bought the rights to the full engine design, and then licensed it to Ford. The ST200/SVT version of the 2.5 liter made more power partially because it used the "Extrudehone" process to port and polish the heads (with less labor cost than normal porting and polishing). The later 3.0 liter versions are still based on the same design, but the 200 HP 2.5 is the best Duratec IMO; an engine with some real pedigree! :)

Options 1 and 3. Combine the two. Give it an updated radio, say a 7 inch head unit with backup camera and dash cam. Maybe an ATOTO A6 Pro with hand gestures and tire pressure monitoring. Better brakes. All around disc brakes.

"and in my opinion more prettier"

- you are not allowed to have an opinion anymore.

Also I strongly disagree that bodywork is easier than engine-work, unless of course myopia got the best of you and you're standing 10ft away...

My dad had a st220 in the 2000s when I was young and I actually went through the effort to find the owner of that very car. Love these and swear I will own one in my life one day.
