University is time consuming.

Sure, you might only have classes for 10-20 hours per week.

But then there's all the work that goes along with it, plus the plethora of extracurricular activities that you can (and should!) get involved in.

So how do you work out whether or not you should work a job while studying.

In this video, I'll break down how to consider this question, as well as what is the "right" type of work to try to get based on your personal situation.

Because for some people, working throughout uni is a matter or survival. For others, it's optional. And the work we should try to get is not the same in these two situations.

Hi Rob! Thanks so much for your video! I just had a question and thought maybe you could help me out. Im a 2nd year biomed student at UWA, and im planning to study optometry for post grad. I dont work at the moment, However, I am planning to start working ( part time/casual) as an optical assistant next year as it will be my final year in my bachelors degree. I was told to not exceed the working hours of 15 h per week. What do you think in this case, is it worth it or not to work and get experince in the field? Cheers mate! Thanks once again!
