My toilet was caught in a drive-by and, while the toilet itself was not hit, the instructions were riddled with bullet holes and rendered useless. So thankful to have this video.

It's just me and my kids here and I'm disabled and was so sure I would have to wait months for someone to help me but today I got tired of it and decided I'm putting it in. I opened the box and my instructions (that were inside of a Ziploc bag) got soaked from it being outside the day it rained. I found this video so helpful considering I forgot how to install one! Thank you!

Great video, helped out a ton. Got it done in 30 mins, if not less. For anyone concerned about using caulk, refer to 1:14

Excellent presentation, easy to follow. Just watched Home Depot DIY Toilet Install live, they never stopped running their mouths and acting like they were a TV sitcom. You are professional and provide easy to follow instructions. Emanuel Hairston & Ron George detract from doing a DIY project and use up too much time. I'm sure they can be more helpful doing something else besides video.

The toilet I got from home depot says it takes 10 minutes to install. Now, the video from Home Depot says a couple of hours. I HAVE BEEN DECEIVED.

HA, absolute happy path install if I've ever seen one.
Accounts for maybe 10% of all installs.

Don't put wax ring on toilet, put it on the flange and drop toilet on top.

I am 70 and have been installing toilets for half a century. Let’s get a few things straight. Re caulking: Yes and no. There is nothing wrong with caulking, but always leave a section, at the back of the toilet, uncaulked. If there is a seal leak you want the water to appear on the floor as soon as possible to alert you. A fully caulked toilet can send leaking water into the basement or crawl space — or to the ceiling of the room below if the toilet is on an upper floor. In most cases the supply line should NOT be reused as the seals will have hardened and failed. Do not use plumber’s tape on the connections. Also, if the new toilet is higher the line will be too short. An old trick is to buy a line that is longer than needed and loop it to make stress-free connections at both ends. A small towel works better than a sponge for removing residual water from the tank of the old toilet. If your water valve has not been operated for years it could well leak at the stem or fail to fully shut off. If it leaks at the stem you will need a new one; if it won’t shut off you can get away with turning off the home’s main shutoff valve. The old toilet will have water in its trap, so remove it by repeatedly cramming a small towel into the bowl and wringing it out. Assembled toilets are heavy, so disassemble tank and bowl before moving the pieces. What to do if the tank bolts are rusted? Cover the tank with a heavy blanket and rap it with a hammer. Put the pieces in a box or plastic tote. And, duh, protect eyes and hands. Have a towel on the floor when you move the bowl, as there still might be residual water in the trap. And, yes, it should not take “a few hours” to install the new toilet. Counting removing the old one, though, it could take an hour or two.

"just a few hours"? I hope that includes the trip to the store to buy it! Other than that a decent video. It's not hard as long as the original install wasn't shoddy. : )

Gently press down? Somebody's 300lb cheeks are about to destroy that gentle press.

The water saver toilets do not save you on your water bill. I bought one. It looked nice installed in my bathroom that I remodeled. The only problem is when you flush the toilet make sure you are ready to flush it again. I hate my toilet. It is an American Standard and not worth a dime . I wish I had my old toilet back. It would save me a ton of money on my water bill!
