Imagine your stomach holding onto food for longer than it should, causing nausea, bloating, and indigestion. This is the reality for those who suffer from gastroparesis. In up to 40% of cases, the cause remains a mystery, leaving both patients and healthcare professionals searching for answers.

Gastroparesis is a medical condition where the stomach's ability to empty its contents is impaired. This leads to delayed digestion and a range of uncomfortable symptoms, such as feeling excessively full even after a small meal. The term "idiopathic gastroparesis" is often used when the underlying cause cannot be identified, essentially translating to "we don't know why you have gastroparesis."

I have no stomach growls or food moving around, nor hunger pangs anynore- which my GI said I should consider myself lucky. Tell him to my meat hiccups/breath for 24-48 hours.

I always have pain with swallowing and sometimes my esophagus goes into complete spasm and can only clear my esophagus with something carbonated. A copper cable down my nose while swallowing water said via an ENT said "your muscles in your esophagus are as weak as a kittens and we don't know why....have a nice day".

I work out, no pop, never have smoked... any thoughts on all this for cause or what tests to get done to help with DX?
