This happened at the top of Old Fort mountian a 7 mile 7% grade mountian with 3 runaway truck ramps. The pull off where the the truck is parked is a Mandatory Truck pull off where there is a huge billboard type sign showing the locations of the Runaway Truck Ramps on the Relatively Steep 7 mile Downhill section of Interstate 40. It is Mandatory for all commercial Trucks to stop, and read the sign, (similar to a aircraft per flight/landing check list) to familiarize/re-familiarize yourself with the locations of the runaway ramps, before descending the mountain. Keep in mind this couple were traveling East bound, the landslide came from the opposite side, completely covering the West bound lane just as you see it come into view in their camera footage. I've traveled that section of I-40 many times as a truck driver, and for pleasure heading to Pigeon Forge, and to VA appointments in Asheville (consistently one of the top performing VA Hospitals in the Nation) and to visit my Mother in Law in Mountain Ridge Rehabilitation Center until her passing this past Christmas eve. It is a Miracle no one was killed there, as this is a heavily traveled section of I-40 !
